While I agree we need to forget ethanol subsidies, you can't just switch from raising corn to wheat overnight. All the equipment (seeding, harvesting) is different for the different crop and is not fucking cheap.

That's fine for fixed installations, but for real time, you'd want synthetic aperture radar mapping with ground-mobile target indication overlaid so you could track columns of vehicles or other obvious non-civilian vehicle formations and feed location and vector information to the Ukrainian military.

For 5), I would imagine a combination of the AWACS along the NATO country borders (they can see a LONG way) and a bunch of Global Hawk drones are getting that job done
