Great primer on the groypers. I knew a bit, but not enough. Thank you.

I, too, believe I need to see clearly what I'm dealing with even it is appalling.

"It’s a whole lot easier to make weird judgments about women or Black people or Jewish people if you are largely isolated and the only people you ever really engage with are other angry white young men on the internet."

Exactly.

Now I know what a groyper is. They're as weird as the name. Fuentes is a twisted incel who has decided that women are poison. I'm so glad because any woman who gets near him would be in mortal danger.

The world has been under patriarchy for 2,000 years. The death and destruction that has been the result is immeasurable, most of which was committed by white European men. And the poor things, they feel threatened because they are becoming outnumbered by people who are not always male, and very often not white. To counter this, the right wing is hauling every form of bigotry they can dig out of the mothballs of history, and inventing new ones ("woke", for instance). They may not be able to sell celibacy but they're successfully selling everything else.

“They just need to run everything.” That hasn’t really worked out too well for the past few thousand years.

Thanks for the quick read on what a Groyper is. I would occasionally see the name/word in something I was reading, but could only guess that they were probably a normal bottom-feeding right wing, MAGA adjacent bunch of mouth-breathers without knowing for sure what their jam was. Just this morning, my wife asked me about them, and I was unable to respond with confidence, other than to say that their leader had dinner with our dip shit President at Mar-a-Lago at least once. Now I know.

Have you also considered that he could’ve been a part of or influenced by ‘Black Pills’?

I’m only recently learning about this term myself.

This is an excerpt from: https://www.adl.org/resources/article/extremist-medicine-cabinet-guide-online-pills

“For those on the extreme right, the black pill represents nihilism, or a realization that the system is too far gone to change. The powers that govern our lives are too deeply entrenched and too powerful to do anything about.

In the incel movement, the black pill is far more pernicious. The term was popularized on the men’s rights blog Omega Virgin Revolt, where it was first used by commenter Paragon in 2011.

Like their extreme right counterparts, incels believe that taking the black pill means realizing that their situation is hopeless. Where redpilled incels are not happy about their place in society, they believe there are ways out of inceldom, including working out, plastic surgery and a host of dubious self-improvement strategies; blackpilled incels believe that their situation is permanent and inescapable. In a blackpilled world the sexual marketplace is governed exclusively by genetics. A man is either attractive to the opposite sex or he is not, and no amount of self-improvement can change this.

This is where the incel movement takes on characteristics of a death cult. Taking the black pill leaves a person with relatively few options: Giving up, or in incel parlance “LDAR” (Lie Down and Rot), suicide (incel forums are filled with suicidal fantasies and threats, as well as encouraging comments to those considering suicide) and “going ER.” The latter is a reference to Elliot Rodger, who killed six people near campus at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2014. In incel forums members, “Saint Elliot” or “The Supreme Gentleman” as they call him (and he called himself), is hailed as a hero.

Alek Minassian, who killed 10 people when he rammed a truck into a crowd in Toronto in 2018, and Scott Beierle, who killed two and injured four in a Tallahassee yoga studio in that same year did not publicly identify as blackpilled, but were viewed as blackpilled by others in the incel community.”

Also too, Fuentes castigated Kirk for yielding to Trump's request to stop talking about Epstein. Fuentes (has) continued to accuse Trump of contributing to an Epstein cover-up, something Charlie Kirk never did.

Fuentes has maintained a quasi-mainstream voice on this issue just by resisting Trump's demands to shut up. That served as one more major division between him and the far more servile Kirk.

My thoughts exactly—if he were a “leftist” we’d be hearing all kinds of stuff from people who knew him. The fact that they are mostly silents speaks volumes, as it were.

When I write about these things, I hear back from a lot of people who say “I’m sorry Robyn, but I just can’t read about this. I don’t want to know who Nick Fuentes is or what he believes! I don’t want to know that there are people like this in the world!”

//

Speaking of things I didn't feel like hearing today, I had to turn off "The 11th Hour" tonight after listening to Rulhe's guests sound like they were just going to go with the Right's framing of all this. But I guess they were worried they'd lose that political commentator paycheck if they started talking about the overwhelming amount of hate speech that comes from the Right as opposed to the Left.

Too late. Robinson’s beliefs are now being called “leftist” by his very conservative family and his girlfriend who might be trans(?). These of course are folks that think Ghengis Khan was too woke. They say he was radicalized after one semester at Utah State, a well-known hotbed for leftish thinking and calls to action(/s!!!!!). His three subsequent years in an electrician apprentice program must have just reinforced those beliefs.

The way I understand it, who knows for sure, Charlie Kirk and Nick Fuentes were alt-right BFFs and Trump adoptees up to and including the january 6th insurrecation. At some point. Daddy decided he liked Charlie better which got Nicky in an uproar Nicky's followers, who became known as Groypers are some real strange dudes, purest of White Supremacists, but voluntarily celibate, and heavy into online gaming. Weirdest of weird Incels. They started showing up at Charlie's events and being a general pain in the ass. So it seems obvious that investigators might want to be looking for some connection to them.

I like to think I keep up, but in reality almost every bit of information you wrote here it’s new to me. If a political news junkie like me is this clueless, I cannot imagine how the rest of my disinterested family would be surprised to learn one word of it. Even so they probably never will unless it turns up on Facebook or Instagram.
