First Dick Cheney, now George Santos.

Did the writers do some weird ritual that involves ingesting an unpronounceable South American hallucinogen?

"awash in seemingly unlimited amounts of money that is used to smear political opponents with made-up garbage. . . "

Hey now, our SCOTUS has declared that that's FREE SPEECH, just like "gratuities" after a congressperson votes the way you tell him!

Oh, you mean that weight-lifting thing, not that other jerk thing... because for a hot minute I believed it.

I'm suspicious of Mr Santos' role here. But, if he's really the voice of reason in this, then, good on him.

Does anyone besides George Santos confirm that he left the call in a fit of conscience?

I suspect his real issue with the call was that the payout wasn't enough to put a dent in his expenses.

My bet is the former. Most of those people aren't capable of thinking up anything at all original, even insults.

I have a hard time believing Santos could be altruistic for any reason. This is a guy who stole from a homeless vet and committed identity theft multiple times, after all. I guess even terrible people can accidentally not cause harm sometimes

Like knows like? He smelled a scam that would come down harder on him than anyone else, what with being a convicted felon awaiting sentencing, if laws got broken.

"It reminds us that while there are certainly left-wing influencers who get paid to push Democratic propaganda"

And who would that be....? What did I miss?

Are we making a distinction between being paid by tons of dark money to push Democratic 'propaganda', or people simply making money off of pushing Democratic 'propaganda'?
