AI is dangerous...

... in large part because I am very likely to slug repeatedly with a tire iron the next hopelessly uncomprehending airhead manager with vapourware dreams of it doing everything they used to pay humans to do.

People. Fuck. It. Is. Hopelessly. Oversold.

It isn’t useless. Asking it questions in plain language and getting intermittently well informed answers is kinda cool. In its unreliable, frequently annoying way. In this domain, it’s a bit like having a bright fast hardworking intern who has read the entire internet but who has zero real life experience and no idea when they are completely off the rails.

It tends also to be a kinda generic mediocre writer you will spend so much time editing you will wonder why you didn’t write it yourself in the first place.

Seriously, this part I totally don’t get. We really don’t need more mediocre writers to keep editors employed...

As we already have several billion of those.
