New Dems Will Tell Trump To Shove His Racist Wall Up His Ass Just Like Their Boss Pelosi

A plan even stupider than usual!

Much like any former reality TV star who is also a moron, Donald Trump has no idea how government works. Trump treats political negotiations like business deals, which we wouldn't advise even if he were actually any good at business deals. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has outmaneuvered and publicly humiliated Trump repeatedly both before and during this absurd government shutdown because she is, in her own badass words, a "legislative virtuoso."Trump should just say,"No mas!" and see if Pelosi would give him bus fare back to New York, but he's intent on fighting on like some cartoon villain who hasn't noticed that he loses in every episode.

Jonathan Swan at Axios reported Sunday that the White House is desperately searching for an "exit ramp" to all this. Unfortunately, Trump is driving both while drunk and with the brakes cut.

Senior administration officials have discussed inviting rank-and-file Democrats to the White House, hoping they may be willing to negotiate over funding for a barrier, according to two sources privy to the private discussions.

Republican officials involved conceded to me that it's a stretch to imagine the White House can break Nancy Pelosi's strong command of her caucus. But administration officials tell me they're going to try.

So Trump wants to play "House of Cards" but he couldn't beat Pelosi at Uno with all the draw fours in the deck. The speaker sets the agenda, and the freshman congresspeople who are awed by the sight of their own names on their office doors don't have the political muscle mass to force Pelosi to give Trump a dollar for his WALL.

Maybe Trump isn't as stupid as we know he is. If he can get at least some of the Dems to speak out against Pelosi's hardline stance it could prove a chink in her armor. Or something. As Barack Obama pointed out, the Donald is not really a "plans guy."

The most prominent freshman House member is Westchester's Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She bucks her party on the Green New Deal or marginal tax rates. She isn't defying Pelosi on pointless monuments to Trump's xenophobia. She also thinks he's racist garbage and isn't afraid to say so. If she did show up at the White House, the Secret Service shouldn't let the former bartender mix Trump a drink.

But Ocasio-Cortez is from one of those "better dead than Republican red" districts. According to Axios, the White House plans to "target freshman Democratic House members from districts Trump won in 2016." This is clinically speaking some "sad shit." It's reminiscent of a former high school sports hero calling up the women he dated during his glory days who have now moved on with their lives. These districts swung hard to Democrats in 2018 for a reason. Voters turned out in record numbers to slap Trump upside the head. Republican John Faso once represented a New York district Trump won by 7 percent and voted in lockstep with him. Now, he directly blames the president for losing his seat.

[T]he combination of the money against me ... and the general antipathy for Trump that's out there combined to make it a very difficult seat in a year like this... I'm glad that it's over. I'm very disappointed in the outcome, but I respect the judgment."

"No mas!"

Antonio Delgado defeated Faso in New York's 19th despite Paul Ryan's super PAC running racist ads that reminded voters Delgado was once a rapper and is still black. Delgado thinks Trump's WALL is dumb and the shutdown over it even dumber. 

Over in Illinois, Lauren Underwood also won a 2016 Trump district. Is the president's staff of imbeciles and crooks really going to send her an invitation? The human toll of the shutdown has got Underwood fired up. The sister is mad . She's not going to listen to Trump's dumb ass.

Perhaps Trump should stay away from black folks on this one. It's tough with so many of the newbies being from groups Trump has insulted or is actively oppressing. But what about the white folks? We elected a few of those. Bonafide white person Elaine Luria upset Trump stooge Scott Taylor in Virginia's 2nd District, where Trump defeated Hillary Clinton. She has called out Trump and Senate Republicans for "failing to do their jobs" and reopen government. She's also reliably pointed out that the House has passed legislation to end the shutdown and that Trump is holding federal employees hostage. Many of her constituents are in the Coast Guard and are working without pay. Luria isn't going to the wall for Trump's WALL.

Down in solid red South Carolina, the stable genius in chief bullied Mark Sanford out of office and he didn't even get a lousy t-shirt to show for it. Instead, Trump's chosen candidate Katie Arrington lost to Democrat Joe Cunningham in a district Trump won by 13 points. Maybe this is where he can exert some pressure and convince Cunningham to swing by with some fine lowcountry beer.

Cunningham didn't vote for Pelosi for Speaker but he didn't support Trump's WALL during the campaign so it's unlikely he'll start now. Someone will have to tell Trump he has few friends among freshman Democrats and the most powerful person in DC right now is Speaker Pelosi. Sad!
