No primary win for him. His career appears to be over regardless of the plea deal he’s likely to make. And his wife should be required to have a chauffeur so she doesn’t kill anybody else with her fancy car.
I got a push-poll for Tammy Murphy a few weeks ago and although she seems solid on the hot-button issues (abortion, climate, guns) I'm still all in for Andy Kim, who already knows his way around the Capitol.
To be fair: if Tammy Murphy does want to be a serious political contender in New Jersey, she will have to share her favorite hoagie/grinder/hero/sub/whatever shop at some point. For some Mid-Atlantic state voters, that's going to be more important than her tax documents.
I guess she's too old to be considered a "nepo baby", but the idea that a "first lady" with no political experience is running for Governor is just a bit too much for me.
Vegas mayor Carolyn Goodman got the job when her husband, former mob lawyer and mayor Oscar Goodman, ran into the term limit. She had no experience, either. It's traditional, I guess?
NJ state politics are opaque even for lifelong NJ residents like myself.
my guesses here: Andy Kim isn't tied to Phil Murphy or any of the machines. since Kim is South Jersey, that means Norcross. Murphy has been a good governor (the best we've had since Jim Florio IMHO), and he isn't a machine politician (which is what Codey is). but he has to deal with the likes of Norcross (and DiVincenzo in North Jersey). plus he apparently has an ambitious wife, and perhaps ambitions of his own. if nothing else, it shows that Murphy, Norcross, DiVincenzo, etc. have had enough of Menendez and his bullshit -- but don't have confidence in (or think that they can sink their tendons into) Kim for whatever reason.
needless to say, i'd vote for either Kim or Tammy Murphy in the general election against whatever MAGAt atrocity the NJ GOP shits out.
If Tammy Murphy were elected to the US Senate, we could officially have a Tammy Caucus. There would be more Tammy’s in the Senate than moderate Republicans and as many as registered Independent Senators.
I know we want more women in the Senate and maybe this is the only way we get them there, but Kim seems like he'd make a good Senator and I'm just not so sure about former Republican Tammy Goldman-Sachs who's never held office. We don't need another Joe Manchin.

Say, know who else is indicted but doing just fine because NOBODY FUCKING MENTIONS IT IN THEIR HORSERACE ARTICLES?
Well, Andy Kim already has the hit single "Rock Me Gently," so I don't know about the musical.

I think the most important thing to consider is how this Tammy will work with the Senator Tammy caucus. What do the other Tammys think of her?

Senator, I think it is.
Oooops. I guess I screwed up.

Same here-I'll gladly take and vote for either one of them.
Sorry, but..."hoagie" fails the Jersey test, Stephen...
"hoagie" fails the North Jersey test. it's perfectly fine for South and Central NJ.
I'm central Jersey and call it a sub. I also refer to Taylor ham as pork roll and vice versa-depends on my mood.
I call shenanigans. Everyone knows there's no such thing as "Central Jersey."
Shhh that's what we want everyone to think- Deep State HQ is located here.
i think it depends. i grew up around Princeton -- "sub" and "hoagie" were used pretty interchangeably.
not "hero," though -- that's some New York shit.
Agreed.
duly noted.

Does a First Lady imply that there might also be a Second, Third, or Fourth Lady somewhere out there?
Wouldn't a First Lady need to resign to run for Senate
I think she has to become First Lady Emerita or something.
"Menendez’s chief of staff, Jason Tuber"
What is it with all these corrupt potatoes in politics?
Is potato.
It takes a Tuber-village!
tommy tuberville?
He yam what he yam...
This smells like a ANOTHER spoiler Democrat like that turn coat down South.
Nah.

Agreed. Kim sounds competent. And hopefully not corrupt.
The First Lady who never had held office worked just fine for NY in 2000.
And she's a former Republican, too. Damn.
Bing. Also, Go. As I mention below, Kim is The Real Deal.
"...and donated to Republican candidates, including noted painter George W. Bush."
SPIT TAKE!!!
Thanks SER!
AKA Warcriminal Bush.
I noticed that too.
Of course, our former President doesn't hold a candle to America's Greatest Living Painter, John McNaughton. An example:
https://www.wonkette.com/p/jon-mcnaughton
It's between him and Thomas Kincaid's 'Mona Lisa'...Nascar Thunder
https://thomaskinkade.com/collections/nascar-thunder-by-thomas-kinkade
It's definitely a kitsch-off, but McNaughton wins due to the MAGA idolatry.
totally...I was just showing off my right-wing-artist bona-fides
Which are _impressive_!
