I help with onboarding new employees at my company. We recently hired an AZ resident and I was DELIGHTED when I saw the sick leave requirement. Was really surprised, actually, so I love seeing this!

I, for one, have zero problems buying rich kids' some tasty, nutritious lunch. Would like to get their parents' hands out of my pocket. Half. We spend half of our Sammie Bucks on making bombs, and we quibble about sandwiches.

loved NM as soon as i moved there (ABQ) from Detroit area (whats not to love) … my diet was expanded when i ordered a cheeseburger at the student union & was asked red or green (green) not even knowing they referred to chile, which is good on a range of food (still seek out the Hatch green chili pepper) … always wanted to return, now there’s a lot more reasons

Why do you think the Taliban is continually limiting the education of females in Afghanistan? Educated people are harder to control.

In the South during slavery, it was illegal in some areas to teach blacks to read. Priests historically have supported keeping religious sayings in Latin so that ordinary people needed priests to explain the texts.

Denying education is a long-time tool for keeping some people down while keeping others in power.

Yep yep yep. I did camera operation for the governor's conferences during the pandemic. I've met her loads of times. Am friends with her press secretary. Grisham is pretty awesome. Rising star really. Look for her at the national level once she is done being govenor. I'd vote for her for prez.

fuck me 3 ways to sunday...

It's WEIRD how "under the radar" this great stuff is in our ambulance chasing MSM...This shit should be FRONT PAGE NATIONAL NEWS..

In a WAY I'm kind of glad it's escaping overall national attention...Once the MSM gets their filthy mitts on something good and decent, they destroy it...MSM can't go fomenting hope and making Democrats looks good.... GOD FORBID

Like someone said on another thread...Mitch Mconnell is out re: concussion for SIX FUCINIG WEEKS and NO ONE in the media is asking if he's too compromised to continue to lead...No, only Joe gets that 'concern trolling' because 'shoes' or something

Lujan Grisham seems great, but credit is due to her legislative Democrats for writing and passing the votes she was then able to sign.

There were 50 years with windows of opportunity to codify Roe v. Wade at the federal level, and that didn't happen. We're talking at the federal level about ways to lighting the crushing burden of college loan debt by figuring out how to pay the lenders; nothing about dealing with the cost itself.

Legal weed, transgender human rights, paid sick leave, providing school lunch to all K-12 kids; all pipe dreams at the federal level, and all could have been at least mooted at a favorable moment; they're not new ideas.

Michigan got a lot done, and we did too in Minnesota. Not everything that's needed and possible; but a lot.

Hopefully the Federal consent decree can get Albuquerque cops to stop murdering the unhoused and people of color, just as I hope the DOJ can do similar in Minneapolis.

You are being sort of ridiculous.

Do tell me who should have died (Obamacare/Mexico City Accords/CHIPS) so that the fuckers who voted for Bernie and brought us the Bernie Sanders Supreme Court could feel good about themselves.

Stopping the military from investigating people for being gay and throwing them out dishonorably derailed the Clinton Administration.

But maybe they could have tossed CHIPS for a pointless, likely un-winnable abortion battle instead or just dumping women's bodies in piles by giving no fucks about the Mexico City Accords

Maybe we should have just given up on ObamaCare, which was almost not passed because the Senate added an abortion poison pill so it had to pass *again* in the House where it had 219 votes.

Stop bitching about Dems for doing the possible.

So more gay veteran suicides?

More dead kids from treatable illnesses?

More dead Americans from no OBamacare?

People could have just fucking voted for HRC.

In fact, Google the Mexico City Accords if you think Dems have just been sitting on their thumbs.

I'll always accept judgement that I'm being ridiculous; no issues there.

My point was that while governors Lujan Grisham, Whitmer and Walz get all the credit; there wouldn't be any credit for them to get had their state's legislative Democrats not done the dirty work and gotten bills to their desks to sign.

As for the rest of your comment. I agree wholeheartedly that Socialists are not Democrats. I'd note that when Democratic Presidential candidates make coalition with the Socialists, they win. When they don't, they lose. The only exception to that rule in the modern, post-Reagan, era is Bill Clinton; and Ross Perot disrupted both the 1992 and 1996 elections significantly.

I think that's a different issue, however. I think Democrats at the national level can take a lot of courage from what's going on in their party in the states, and I think we'd all be the better if they do.

Tina Mouse's avatar

Democrats are progressive.

If you want to be absolutely certain to lose the Hispanic vote and elections consider stroking yourself about your total purity in using the word "socialist". There are many hispanics that have fled socialist states.

And before you start with your No True Scotsman bullshit let me remind you that you damn Bernie-licking socialists are why we got Trump.

Or you could care if other people actually lived or died. But that would require that your empathy be larger than your ego.
