But when folks, especially recovering Catholics (also known as agnostics or atheists) like me, criticize the Church, we are criticizing the hierarchy, or as Brother Pierce has forever named them, "the international conspiracy to obstruct justice." They get criticized unrelentingly until they (1) fully admit their wrongs and (2) atone. Until then, they are scum and unworthy of the company of civilized human beings. As to the New Pope, I think Brother Pierce has nailed it once again: "You do not fk with the Society because the Society will fk your shit up." Never, ever, underestimate a Jesuit.
