Chapter 1 billion of the NYT never letting Biden have a win

“Biden’s Asylum Restrictions Are Working as Predicted, and as Warned”

“Border numbers are down significantly. But migrant activists say the restrictions President Biden imposed in June are weeding out people who may have legitimate claims of asylum.”

Who would have thought border restrictions would upset “migrant activists”?

I don't think Amy Coney Barrett has more integrity than the rest of the Republican justices. I think Harlan Crow et al don't throw any bribes her way because she's just a girl, and these right wing, misogynistic billionaire assholes don't like spending money on women for anything other than sex.

She has a husband to support her, the men have to support their families, so they need the extra. Duh. An IBM hiring manager told me that when they gave my male colleague $5 more an hour. Even though he has less experience and less education.

I was laid off in the Recession of '80 and applied for a clerical job with a small company. The guy interviewing me closed the door, then told me the job only pays minimum wage and was designed for a woman who wanted something to supplement her husband's income.

Needless to say, I didn't get the job.

I think it's subtler than that. If a Democrat wins office in November, they're likely to enact term limits and enforceable ethics rules on the Court. Alito and Thomas are the most vulnerable, and Barrett one of the least.

Two weeks and two days ’til the debate; sentencing in NY eight days after that ...

IMHO it’s 50/50 he’s going to make it to the election without some kind of *complete* mental/physical breakdown; as in, requiring medical intervention, such that the campaign will have to come up with a cover story, like “COVID”, to explain his absence. 🤞

This assumes there hasn't already been some sort of medical intervention, which of course isn't working because the problem is he's literally insane.

I think Judge Merchan should send him to jail immediately. That is appropriate treatment of a career criminal who has openly threatened the judge, his staff and his family. While the xxx-potus delivered those threats using his customary weasel words, his intent was undeniably clear. Also, when Al Capone was sentenced for his tax evasion crimes, he was immediately remanded to Cook County Jail, where he stayed until his appeals were denied, at which point he was sent to prison.

Fukui was talking about some young girls being excited about an event.

I can imagine the girls would get a kick out of him driving them around at high speeds saying something like- "So there I was, making an early high security supply drive under fire. I had to do some dodges like THIS (pump the gas and steer) and maneuvers like THIS (slams on the brakes) to keep them off my trail."

Mine all expired because I fell for CVS’s “come in and get your free tests” where they offloaded all their near to expiration tests onto suckers like me so they could sell the ones that weren’t near expiration. They expired BEFORE the tests I’d previously ordered from the government. I should have been more suspicious.

We voted for abortion rights protections in AZ 30 years ago, at the very least, and that included a hell of a lot of rich, white ladies, so these fuckers need to go back to school and LEARN.

AND, checked in with our young hero of California, CU_tech this evening, who is okay and knows we love him. He thinks he has become our "mascot" but I assure him he is simply ONE OF US, ONE OF US.

Also: first workout of 3 sets DONE, 100 reps triceps/arms, 150 reps abs/core, 200 reps ballet barre bullshit. I'm CAREFUL, do not want injuries, too old to deal with that bullshit anymore.

*So apparently I occasionally give some concern to my kind and loving friends here in Wonketaria, but though I appreciate and do heed it, there's no need to worry. I do moderate types of exercises with a lot of reps to tone and not bulk up. Reversed Type2 diabetes, YAY, BMI down 6 pts so far, YAY.*

Followed by a salad of mixed-up, crazy baby greens kids, tomata, cucumber, tuna, chicken breast & some boiled egg, saving half for later, it's a lot! Like a chef salad who is No Fun with No Cheese.

This is my way (one of) to be accountable to myself knowing friends are witnesses, and is very motivating. ALL VERY BORING to the overwhelming much of You Good People, but I am just saying 🥰

No. You posted a link to a note that requires one to leave the thread to see the image instead of seeing it in the thread where it belongs. Not your fault.

Substack coding doesn't allow that. SAD WEAK LOW ENERGY coding.

Expand full comment
Paulomatic's avatar

It has nothing to do with coding, it's a Substack business decision. What we are doing here in the comments fails to grow them very many new authors. Giving us more features here would make it better for us, worse for Substack's profits. It will probably never happen.

Expand full comment
shivaskeeper's avatar

It's not the coders fault that we use a system built to mainly allow authors to interact directly with their audience as a message board either.

We use the system in a way it wasn't really designed to be used. That's a we problem, not a them problem.

Expand full comment
Paulomatic's avatar

It's a them problem. Substack is Amway for writers. We do not generate enough authors here because we are amusing ourselves.

While we're amusing ourselves it's in a way the comment section wasn't designed for.
