They may not have the cash to pay someone to do it. The robocalls are probably scheduled in advance.

Definitely generational, especially for Cubans. The older generation is still bitter about Castro, but their kids (and increasingly, grandchildren) care about Cuba only to the extent that they'd like to visit and connect with their roots.

They're also not as devoted to conservative Catholicism as their elders, so that's a significant factor too.
