Can't remember who, but I heard some right-wing assbag last week refer to J. Carter as "the worst President America has ever had" and I wish I could remember who because I want to tattoo this article on his fucking forehead. The man uses his Christian values to make the lives of millions of people measurably better, while the "Christians" in the GOP talk about how Americans without kids aren't "real Americans" and work towards a Christian Nationalist dictatorship.

President Carter and his wife are true Christians. It shines through out their lifetimes. I’ve been proud to say this for years since his time as President.

The "worm wrapped around a stick" is the basis of the Caduceus, the symbol of medicine. Healers in the ancient world would be the ones pulling out guinea worms. It really is nice to think of the Caduceus now as an ancient method to eradicate a nearly-extinct animal today.

Marcie - third disease. You forgot rinderpest, an animal disease. This would be the second human disease eradicated.

I have a friend who learned about that nasty worm way back when he was premed; then he literally became an atheist.

He was like, that it is. That is so fucking cruel and nasty. There is no god.

I am not saying that to be pro or anti religion just to say, that is how nasty that worm is.

DO NOT GOOGLE.

I have always liked Jimmy Carter. He was the first person I ever voted for in a presidental election. That man has done a lot of good in his life and I admire him and wish him the best.

he is an ordained baptist minister. But he resigned for the southern baptist cult after the hypocrites who run it said that THEIR WORD was supreme, over even the Bible. This contrdicts the traditional Baptist belief called "The priesthood of the believer". That doctrine says that any Christian can speak to God, and God hears them. Which is what Jesus said.

I was thinking about how during Carter’s presidency, which was not notable for much that I remember, I don’t think anyone ever doubted the man’s basic humanity, honesty, compassion, and decency.

Carter's presidency is notable for his mass-pardon of everyone who evaded the Vietnam War draft the day after inauguration, support of green energy research by installing solar panels on the White House (which Reagan had ripped out), shifted foreign policy from anti-communism toward human rights, oversaw the Camp David Accords which lead to a peace treaty between Israel and Egypt and normalisation of relations, signed the SALT II treaty limiting intermediate-range nuclear weapons between the USA and USSR (which Trump abandoned), and more.

When you find a busted link like this just look at the part of the URL that is at the end, you don't want any quotation marks at the beginning or end of the link.
