Fascism is coming to America As has been said before, it's coming wrapped in a flag and carrying a Bible and a crucifix. Wake up people! RESIST!! I realize that most on this site already know that, but we need to do more to enlighten EVERYONE. It may be difficult or unpleasant, but have this discussion with your Trumpy neighbor or the pastor of the local Bible church. These people need to come to the realization that they have become innocent , guileless participants in the destruction of the USA. They have been duped into thinking they are doing the right thing, when nothing could be farther from the truth, They are our fellow citizens, not the enemy

No. They are the enemy, and you are deluded to say they are either innocent or guileless. They live on and for hate porn/bigotry/racism/homophobia/misogyny. The way to resist is to get decent humans to vote. MAGAturds are neither decent NOR human.

So many "communities" Why should there be any need for subsets within the larger framework of American society. Are we not all entitled to the same rights? Who or what you are should not enter into the equation. Discrimination of any sort is simply not permissible!

The 'melting pot' theory was debunked quite some decades ago. Try to keep up.

Because the "larger framework" has treated these "communities" like shit now and in our history and they have banded together for representation and more political power. That's "Why".

And yet, I get where RRJKR is coming from. I'm a straight white guy who accepts all kinds of people from all communities and rarely thinks about this where I live. Now I understand in other towns it is WAY different. It is something that rarely comes up in our politics here, except when the occaisional MAGAt-like white Repub runs for office. But then mostly everyone just ignores him.

We have one now, running for the state senate for the sedond of tired time, and he will likely lose again because people, not just where I live, but in the rest of the distrrict knows he's basically

a criminal that no-one likes. Our literal communites with ''communites'' within will take hia aas to the cleaners.

I am quite stoned right now and I'm watching PBS Create on mute. It seems like a farm for ducks and chickens with a sturdy looking white woman talking about the birds and the eggs. I'm enjoying it very much. I'm sure if I unmuted, it would lose its charm so I'm just going to keep it this way. :D

Genius is NOT a good site to go cause they often do not list the lyricist, whiich in this case is

Bob Russell, not Duke.

Yeah, a note to remember is that many jazz musicians did not write lyrics, but sometimes had regular lyriscists. Duke's manger Irving Mills wrote a number of lyriics for sangs, and Billy Strayhorn was famously hired to write lyrics, but as he was also a pianist, he would somtoime play the piano on certain tunes where Dukewanted to conduct the orchrestra.

In the arly day Duke and his band would often behired to work with ithers, so the famous song ''Three Little Words'' written by Harry Ruby and Bert Kalmar was done with vocalist The Rhythm Boys (featuring Bing Crosby) with Duke and his orcgetrs backing them.

"Drop Me Off in Harlem" originated from an off the cuff remark from Duke. Nick Kenny had hailed a taxi, and offered to share it with Ellington. Kenny asked "Where to, Duke?", and Ellington replied "Drop me off at Harlem". Kenny then fashioned lyrics from Ellington's remark and presented him with them a few days later at the Cotton Club.

"Stormy Weather" is a 1933 song written by Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler. Ethel Waters first sang it at the Cotton Club in Harlem, and then later that year Duek and hid band recordedit with Duke's singer Ivie Anderson doing the vosals.

Sometimes, the lyrics were not heard. Juan Tizol and Duke wrote music fro the famous tune ''Caravan'', and Irvinf Mills write lyircs, but they are rarely sung. I've actually never heard a vocal version of ths famous tune!

"Take the 'A' Train" is a jazz standard by Billy Strayhorn that was the signature tune of the Duke Ellington orchestra, and there were two versions of lyrucs written. Joya Sherrill, who was 20 at the time (1944) wrote teh sceind ones. She made up the words at her home in Detroit, while the tune played on the radio. Her father, a noted Detroit activist, set up a meeting with Ellington. Owing to Joya's remarkable poise and singing ability and her unique take on the song, Ellington hired her as a vocalist and adopted her lyrics.

There are plenty of other exsmples for lyrics for Duke's music but you really have to search for then as there is not an actual list of all of them.

Feared from the jump that Fani had gotten out over her skis with the RICO schtick. Sure, fake electors deserve to go down, but she had Cheeto, Rudy, Meadows, Powell & Ellis dead to rights thanks to the Raffesberger aide who wisely taped that exquisitely damning phone call. This is why Jack Smith, who has likely sworn off sex until at least November as he prepares fabulous motions, has limited his J6 case [May it reach the docket] to one defendant & four charges. When this all shakes out, sadly, it appears that GA case could be scuttled- or at least contaminated/delayed- so she and Nathan will have plenty of time to island hop. Karma, however, is working her magic, as Bahamas, Jamaica and Trinidad/Tobago are now so dangerous they’ve been designated do-not-travel zones.

IANAL, but I fail to see how her hiring her boy toy would impact the case. The case is what is presented in court not that the prosecutor got their job through nepotism. That is a matter for the DA's office to handle internally.

And if as republicons claim, he is not qualified to prosecute a RICO case then against that is an internal matter for the DA's office and it is better for Trump so they should shut the fuck up. You didn't see Roberta Kaplan complaining in the media that Habba was not qualified. When your enemy is punching themselves in the dick you don't tell them to stop.

Agree that if Wade was not the right man for the job, Team Trump should have kept that on the downlow and hoped for the best. Nonetheless, this whole kerfluffle strikes me as a foreseeable, preventable, unnecessary distraction. She’s a pro who knew better, but didn’t do better, when the stakes are so incredibly high. Also, too, GA state leg. has been enacting half a zillion new laws to thwart County DAs.

Especially if she starts peeing in weird places. If cats start feeling the burning sensation when they pee, they will sometimes associate it with the litterbox itself, or where the litterbox is, and not want to use it. Usually a digestive impaction will also be accompanied by a loss of appetite, and sometimes vomiting.
