As a wise and generous young woman once said, although in a different context: they are lucky we only want justice and not retribution.

She has concerns and is sure they have learned their lesson.

Notable that her CHEIF worry was how the brood mare might not be able to birth more babies. HER life was secondary

Local political writer thinks NC is poised to become the next Texas, and he's probably not far from being wrong:

The TX medical board will only have a dilemma as to how to fix this situation for the future if it's made up of republican lawyers, judges and politicians.

About a week ago on Wonkette I noted that the GP and also The Federalist were resoundingly silent on Kate Cox's personal tragedy and the sick cruelty of Texas's abortion laws, both websites being populated by gutless wonders. I did suppose they would have to get around to acknowledging this event had taken place, sometime, and that when they did their response would be disgusting. Hardly a tough call.

Gateway Pundit still hasn't given the matter even a passing mention, that I've noticed, but Rachel Aldhizer on The Federalist now has, two days ago. Her take is as disgusting as I expected, and as wholly dishonest. This she-ghoul concludes that more and tougher restrictions on abortion are needed, to plug the gaps and close the loopholes, even as she concedes, in the first paragraph, that where abortion is concerned, Texas state law is "one of the most restrictive in the country."

But " ... this work is just beginning," says Aldhizer, "and more legislation is needed to protect the rights of the unborn, particularly the disabled."

Among other things, when she says of Cox that her child has "Trisomy 18, a genetic disorder," Aldhizer does not mention that it's a FATAL genetic disorder, and that Kate Cox's child had a very small chance of being born alive, virtually none of surviving a month, and that the poor kid's death will be painful if it does come into the world. Nary a mention of these somewhat relevant facts. And worse to come. The she-ghoul in question proceeds to write virtuously about "a disabled child's right to life," and compare, by implication, Trisomy 18 with Down's Syndrome. I am fairly sure she knows that Down's Syndrome is not a death sentence and that kids with Down's can have happy lives, as distinct from no life at all.

So ... disgusting and wholly dishonest? I think the answer is clear and the answer is, "Shit, yeah."

“I think that Texas is going to go back and have their ... medical board look at this and say, ‘How should we deal with this?’” Haley said Tuesday. “I think every state’s going to do that.” No they're not.

Texas and other red states don't want qualified medical professionals looking at anything regarding abortion, transgender medical treatment, or even gay medical issues. They rely on quacks or doctors on fringe medical associations often composed of doctors from unrelated fields, just like climate change deniers rely on pseudoscience or scientists from non-climate related specialties. But mainly rely on "it's still cold at the South Pole." When an average August of -10 is still warm compared to an average August of -17 ten years ago.

I want to know what the national security reasons are for managing women's reproductive cycles. Simply wanting to force women to carry every fetus to term regardless of the complications along the way does not seem to me to be anything more or less than a power trip by people like AG Paxton, whose knowledge of the medical issues are about less than minus 50 points on any intelligence scale. As he is not a doctor, nor are the judges and congressjerks who insert their religious beliefs into this argument, all of them should stop harassing women for being the gender that gets pregnant, because, as it has been said before, "If men got pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament"
