There are numbers that have been frequently used as code for murder, but "86" isn't a common one. I thought "86" was a term meaning to quickly hide something that your crew wants very badly, but the captain has an issue with. Unlike speakeasy customers, Trump will not be welcomed back, so the whole 86 reference is misapplied.
I'd heard the expression years ago, I associated it with "kill/murder" - apparently (way bk when), gang members wld use that to intimidate other gang members. Pls not this is based on old info presented to me by a member of the specialized gang task force police unit in Houston. I've now learned the more modern use of "86" is simply "do away with".
