On Monday, a bomb was discovered in the mailbox of George Soros,the shady billionaire who sends us all weekly checks for pretending we don't think Donald Trump is a good presidenta rich guy who donates money to Democrats and who conservatives use as a human filter for all of their most bizarre anti-Semitic pipe dreams. One of the more recent pipe dreams is that Soros is paying all the refugees in the caravan to come to the United States and make Donald Trump look bad. Trump himself has suggested that the sexual assault survivors trying to talk to senators during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings were only there because they were paid by Soros.
Sending George Soros a mail bomb is an act of terrorism and a completely horrifying thing to do to anyone. You might think that things going this far would result in some people taking a step back and going "Perhaps things have gone too far!" You would be wrong.
In fact, when the news was tweeted out by right-wing outlets like Fox News and Drudge Report, the immediate reaction from many of their followers was unadulterated joy.
@FoxNews Finally a positive start to our morning.....

@DRUDGE_REPORT What’s the bad news? https: //t.co/ozP4vA0oBD
— John DePetro Show (@John DePetro Show) 1540263902.0
That last one right there is John DePetro, a radio host from WNRI -- a station that I am pretty sure only broadcasts within like 20 miles of the small town where I grew up. Their tagline is "Voice of The Blackstone Valley," which -- just trust me on this -- is not a voice anyone wants to hear. Also it is a voice that is probably saying "throw me down the stairs my shoes" and "park the cars side by each" because those are things people say in Woonsocket. WNRI is basically sort of a public-access-but-on-the-radio kind of thing and you can pay them to let you have your own show. When we were in middle school my friend and I would listen to the weird ass shows on there and laugh maniacally. That is my hot insider intel on WNRI. But anyway, he is verified on Twitter and going around cheering for mail bombs with perky pig GIFs. That's normal now, I guess.
These reactions are not surprising. These people spend so much time listening to and reading the wacky shit their thought leaders make up about George Soros and about the left that literally anything anyone on their side does -- mail bombs included -- seems perfectly justified in their worldview. What is a mail bomb, really, when George Soros is rudely paying half of America to disagree with you even though they all secretly know you are right about everything? When Antifa is looking to murder you in your sleep because they hate how much you love personal responsibility? When Satanic pedophile rings lurk in the basement of every pizza parlor? When SJWs are going to stab you in the face and get you fired from your job if you accidentally say the wrong thing even if no one ever even told you they changed the rules about saying that particular thing? When the Clintons go around wantonly murdering people all the time? When Democrats don't even care if illegal immigrants take over your lake houses in Minnesota?
When things are that extreme -- and make no mistake, these people absolutely believe they are that extreme -- any extreme action is justified and warranted and fair. Mail bombs are absolutely nothing compared to the imaginary horrors that George Soros and every other liberal in America is inflicting upon them. This is how radicalization happens.
Calls for civility aren't going to change this. Even pointing out right wing extremism isn't going to change this. The root of the problem is that these people truly believe all these completely ridiculous and horrible things are happening, and until we figure out a way to disabuse them of these notions, they're going to be cheering for mail bombs. America!

Normal Human Trump Volk Very Excited About George Soros Getting A Mail Bomb
My bestie who went to agricultural college & I once whiled away part of an afternoon doing exactly this ;-)
I've heard that as well. I choose to believe that one as it makes me feel less bad about roasting one of their kind up every November.
