That seems to be a widespread issue. My boyfriend's little brother attends a Christian school here in Washington with the same sort of curriculum. I had to stop talking to him about his classes because I got angry every time he mentioned the bible in relation to history or science.

To add to the totally cool and fun traffic times here in Pittsburgh - there's a Pirate game AND a Pens playoff game and some genius decided to go ahead with road work so one of our tunnels is closing tonight at 9:00. Anybody got a Xanax?

They got all the learnin' they need from the bible. They know God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve, that God hates sluts (especially those that use vibrators), that evolution is just a theory, and that judgement day is coming any day now. What would they need school for?

Unfortunately one of the rallies is right next to the University of Pittsburgh and the anti-Trump students are all fired up and started the Dump Trump protests yesterday. The idiots with guns have me worried for these students. I don't mind them culling their own herd but you know how they are...there's no fair fight with them. Fun true fact: In 1950, the United Stares Army required all its soldiers to have at least a 5th grade education and had schools to bring the delinquents up to par. That was back in the days before teachers unions ruined public education.

I ran across an interesting fact sort of related to this. In 1956, NC passed an state constitutional amendment in response to Brown v Board of Education, providing grants for private schools when a parent did not want their child to go to an integrated school. Of note was that the grant was only for non-secular schools. With the definition being clearly stated. While it's great that (many) North Carolinians do not want to return to segregated schools, it shows the state is even more backward now than in 1956 when it comes to separation of church and state.http://scholarship.law.unc....
