As I have pointed out before, Eric Adams is a criminal and carpetbagger. He had moved from Brooklyn to New Jersey when he decided to run for Lord Mayor.

As such, he pronto 'moved' to an apartment building he owned in Brooklyn, one where the tenants never saw him and did not even know he owned the building. As such, chances are good he was still living in NJ until that story came out. He is easily the worst mayor since Giuliani and with some work could be worse.

I apologize if someone has already answered this, but I can't read 250 comments just to be sure. Anyway, my question: what possible interest would Turkey have in who is mayor of NYC?

You are correct, but this is the U S of A, where many people don't know a lot of things and can't even spell the names of some states...

When the breaking news alert about this came through yesterday I watched people around me look at it and start laughing and/or groaning. NU YAWK, BAYBEE!

Stop electing people who parrot right wing noise because the chances are they are a right wing parrot.

And a grifter besides.

Think we can learn this now

As soon as I read this, I knew it was a scam. Like, Nigerian Prince level of scam - only the most gullible would fall for it. So of course Adams took the bait.

Oh, and speaking of scams, Mr. Mayor, how's that "take part of my salary in bitcoin" working out for ya?

[There is so much that is weird about this story]

More or less weird than Adams wanting to shoot and eat the geese in Central Park?

I had him blocked because I mostly got tired of listening to his always terrible takes on everything so I missed this originally:

I recall that right after winning the election he made a trip to Ghana. That seemed weird at the time but let's take a look at his campaign contributions at that time, too.

I read somewhere that vaccinations help prevent dementia so I have had them all. Can't remember where I saw that, though. Somewhere on the internets, so it must be true.

I voted for Kathryne Garcia, who I still consider to be fucking awesome and about a billion times better than full time photo-ops attendee Eric Adams.

Also, check out Adams' close friend Lamor Whitehead. The preacher that got robbed in the middle of a service and has since been arrested himself, for some pretty despicable stuff.

I am not a NYC resident, but I would've voted for Maya Wiley. I think she and Garcia sort of cancelled themself out. Either one of them would be way better.

I too voted for Garcia, although since I live in North Carolina it probably didn’t count. Seriously, though, when I read about the candidates it seemed like a no-brainer. She was clearly the best one.

This one kicked my ass! It didn't last long, but it was the sickest I've been since that time I had actual covid. I must be invincible now, 5G notwithstanding.

True! Google "hybrid immunity". Wild infections and vaccines give you more than just adding the two together.

OTOH, had my COVID shot a couple weeks ago (with the flu shot in the other arm in same vax session), and other than a little soreness in the arm the next day, I felt normal. FWIW, the first two COVID shots back in 2021 instigated brutal 30 hour pain/fever/chills marathons.

I've lost count--6? 7? covid vaccines now. None of the others had much effect on me, and most other vaccines don't bother me, either. As "they" say, YMMV. I'm just happy to have one less thing to worry about, or at least not worry as much about.
