South Korea just wanted to sell 850,000 antique guns to American collectors, which is not a big deal! At least the Obama Administration didn't think so last year, when its flouncy minions heard the word "antique" and quickly approved the sale. But then the Obamars realized that this was about Korean War-era M1 rifles, not old
I would like an M1 -- the rifle or the tank. My father had one (the gun) in WWII and it does have historic interest. I'd worry about firing it, assuming ammunition is available. The thing is older than me and might be broken or weakened.
Naturally the gun nuts are seeing anti-gun sentiment. Perhaps if we let it be known that muslins like owning guns, they might pause. Nah - the muslins may not have First Amendment rights to build a mosk, but everyone -- from bin Laden to bin Laden's crazy cousin -- has a right to military firearms.
Geez - these wouldn't be weapons paid for by the US Government, given to South Korea for defense, and now that government wants to sell them back to the taxpayers who paid for them in the first place?
Just a guess.
However, if that is correct, the obvious answer is for South Korea to just give them away to us...
Does our Federal Govmint still have that program where you and your buddies can start a "Gun Club" and get a bunch of surplus weapons for free?
Maybe The Regime doesn't want the foreign competition.

Actually...I wouldn't mind having one of those myself. Will Nellist be my friend now?
They can have one only if they promise not to hurt the squirrels.
Good call - in fact, Max Brooks of the Zombie Survival Guide recommends the carbine as a very useful zombie apocalypse weapon.
