"Free enterprise" does not mean completely unregulated commerce. Given the opportunity, people will lie, cheat, and steal. Regulations are required to protect against predation.
Good one. Reminds me of a story I heard in Hollywood. My boss (the fx supervisor for the project) told me of a guy who wanted a job. Boss look at his demo reel and said "Well, I don't think you personally did this." "Why not?" said the perplexed artist. "Because I did this!!"
You’re likely right on that. Even though it’s been established that paying decent wages helps everyone’s prosperity in the long term, a lot of small businesses have no choice but to think month-to-month.
