There's already been a few charters busted for fraud in Ohio, more to come I'm sure. Back in the late 70's early 80's a slew of "trade schools" were also brought up on fraud charges - The whole trade school regulatory system collapsed under state investigation and trade schools went by the wayside. Just waiting for history to repeat.

Here in AZ, ESA vouchers, also known as screw over taxpayers by lying and paying for things like a piano, vacation in Mexico or whatever else you can buy is fine as long as the parent calls it educational .

I can’t tell you how SEEN I feel from reading this, having endured dealing with the toxic optimism of parents at my son’s school who’ve tried to push sketchy and ill advised moves on various school clubs/committees. When I (90% of the time the only black person on said clubs/committees) have tried to point out the slippery slope and potential for (politically loaded) pitfalls, I’ve been met with parental Mean Girls closing ranks. It’s gotten so I didn’t have the will to attend this year’s big school fundraiser, billed as a ‘60s-themed ‘Groovy Gala’ , for fear my head would explode at the first sight of an Afro (or God forbid, dreadlock) wig and dashiki sported by some white middle manager.

Arizona is getting screwed.

I'm glad in Mass it can't get too crazy.

"Massachusetts passed a law limiting the number of charter schools, capping the total at 120, with specific limits on Horace Mann and Commonwealth charter schools, and requiring new Horace Mann schools to develop memorandums of understanding with local unions"

Pass a law so they can't steal it all!

This is already happening in Indianapolis. The IPS has been so stripped of funds and students that the Indiana legislature is boring to dissolve the IPS

I know I just said I love you, Rebecca, for giving us shy people the tools for fighting oppression. But tonight Mr. Sunbeam and I watched ep 6 of True Detective s1, and there was a spooky amount of relevant news about school vouchers and school choice, etc. etc. In addition to being a good amount of Rust and Marty. You're right, you're still right. True Detective s1 called it, you refuted the guys, and we are better for it.

I don’t want to hear a goddamn word about “choice” while Dobbs is the law of the land.

You should send this info to your local TV station ( the little one ) that would do a story or call the newsroom and ask to speak to a reporter and tell them your proof ..the local people and parents deserve this ...I've learned there's usually one good news person looking for a good story to tell . Especially when it concerns their taxpayers money and corruption and children's education . Expose this BS. The kids and you deserve the truth to be exposed good luck ...if this is the only way to stop a fire .....being in the fire women

I feel like there’s a point to be made about Jackie’s absolute inability to write in English, but maybe I’m just not up on mommy-thread texting styles 😂.

I've had the DeVos terrors since the early 1970s cult-phenom of Amway (DeVos invention)--an ingenious way to blend redefine greed and blend it into a self-serving form of Christianity (God shows his love for you by giving you the means by which to own a Cadillac; if your friends don't want to become part of this, they don't love you.)
