"It doesn’t matter what the hell the damn platform says."

It's just an expanded version of the platform of 2020: "Whatever Trump wants."

I said out loud "Fuck You Kelly" at NBC 'news' the other night when Kelly O'Donnell briefly mentioned the omission at the end of her piece, as if it was a significant departure, and then smiled.

Yeah, what the hell is up with NBC these days? I can't even look at their headlines anymore—they've joined the RePLaCe oLd JoE! choir with nastiness I'd only previously seen at right wing sites and, later, CNN.

I only watch NBC when it's a familial obligation - watching NBC (sometimes ABC) is a ritual for my mom. I've always thought their coverage was biased and went whichever way the wind was blowing.

I just read it on their app and, for the longest time, they seemed to be very anti-trump. Now, however, not a word about trump but it's all hand-wringing and pearl-clutching about Old Handsome Joe. I just swipe through all of it now.

My main source is the Guardian and their coverage of this has been really biased since the debate. Seems like these media outlets all copy each other - as Evan noted last night, it looks like the NYT is driving it and has a personal grudge against OHJB.

"Are they gonna start sending US Citizens to Gaza?"

Republicans would try that with Black and brown citizens in a HOT MINUTE if they thought White Democrats wouldn't put up too much of a fight.

DO NOT be fooled.

Yeah no shit they would. And they’d be cavalier about it. Seriously though, where does a White Supremacist send a Black person back to? They’re too stupid to actually know that Africa is a continent and not a country, so what country do the propose to send them back to especially given that even Black peoples are unclear of their genealogy? I bet if you asked they’d look like dogs trying to figure out what that high sound was.

Dinnae the GOP remember how much easier all their lives were without a "platform"? Are they not committed to the absence of commitment? Don't they want the flexibility to say anything and everything, forever, with never a concern for coherence or contradiction? What is Clarity other than Opacity under a different name?

Even if they WERE right about not going for a national abortion ban, everything else is piled on straight-up fascism. We know there'll be concentration camps that will become extermination camps. There isn't physically ability to move undocumented migrants (the only ones rounded up will be Hispanic (inclusive of Caribbean) or African, bet on it).

Remember, we have to defeat Republicans up and down the ballot! Give them no quarter!

Mount up!

Trump is a useful idiot. He doesn't care what is in the party platform as long as he gets to play golf and solicit a commission for every transaction with other countries. If he wins, the oligarchs funding the federalist society and heritage foundation win.

"build an “Iron Dome”, referring to Israel’s anti-missile defense system."

.....what?

Are we Canada and Mexico launching missiles at the US that means we need a system like that?

I'm guessing this is part security theater (not actually protecting anything but it LOOKS like it is) and a very large part a gift to defense contractors to get lucrative contracts to build the useless thing. It wouldn't even need to work so they can cut corners like MFs.

I saw a documentary a few days ago that said Hitler generously declined to take his salary as president. (While he became very rich because everybody decided it might be a good idea to have a copy of "Mein Kampf" around the house; also, all newlyweds were given a free copy, at government expense).

Hitler also had Parkinson's.

These parallels are adding up.
