He was amazing; the county coroner for Stanislaus county for 32 years, and a contractor for smaller counties surrounding the area as well. When I was 12, my goal was to be a coroner/pathologist like he was! He taught RN's and MD's in those rotations; he also testified as an exert (insert the letter to the right of "o") witness in homicide cases. The "Onion Field Murders" was one of the famous ones. He was also a photographer and took images of every crime scene himself. Luckily, I was able to view the images to make sure they were turned over to the county coroner at the time as evidence; just in case there might be unsolved cases. I also read the notes we found to make sure the records were safe. The ER Doc Bother in law (not a tyo) wanted to send it all to the trash. I understood "Dad's" reverence in talking for the dead; his oldest son did not.
