One guy was arrested for macing the cops (and also having illegal body armor). Three others were arrested for criminal trespassing, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. And then a guy who assaulted two reporters was also charged with the mischief and misconduct, as well as assault, harassment and a probation violation.
While it is excellent that the entire Lege voted Nearman out, we shouldn't get a warm fuzzy feeling about Rs doing bi-partisanship here. None of them were inclined to do this based on the video of him opening the door to armed, maskless rioters (all sorts of excuses about that). It took a leaked video showing him INSTIGATING and PLANNING the attack to get them to take action- almost certainly so as not to loose voters in swing districts. With, I believe ONE exception, R lawmakers who chose to comment either minimized his crimes (only mentioning the door opening, for example) or used their time to do "both sides-ism" ("What about Portland?") and decrying the supposed lack of condemnation of property destruction there by Ds (fact: EVERY D pol I know of, PLUS BLM and community activists of all sorts condemned the property destruction. Multiple times.) So no, they didn't have some sort of "come to Jesus" moment and realize that their Party's decades-long currying of the Far-Right was a BAD IDEA. And neither did a small group of his deluded supporters, who gathered outside to scream abuse at the departing legislators . Someone needs to explain to those fools what "treason" actually means, because to quote Inigo Montoya, "that word, it does not mean what you think it means".
A lot of them may not have been his constituents; although Portland and most of the Willamette Valley are progressive, there are way too many Proud Boy, Three Percenter, Oathkeeper, Patriot Prayer types who show up on a regular basis.
Not really. Wide spread press coverage and the second video did him in. Oregon Republicans walked out 3 times in the last legislative session to stop cap and trade bills.
I'd say it's really time for those guys up in the Creep's heaven (and their friends down here) to reminisce over the Rehnquist "Early Years," when he expressed himself so freely in the very harsh harassment of black people waiting in line to vote. Many years ago I saw a hearing with three ancient Black voters-- the old lady sat in the middle, and described her experience with him, this hearing took place WHILE he was chief justice, tho this is hard to grasp. I didn't hear another word about for a long long time. Till google came along. I heard too that he had to avoid certain kinds of live events to avoid being 'bullied' on the subject. "Poor little mite."
So very very very sad how many Confederate Traitors made their way to Oregon post getting their arses kicked during the Civil War, and how HUGE THE OREGON KLAN was, and come on, still is, obviously see example A above ... Credulous Imbecilic Confederate Deplorable Vulgarian Filth and Trash are Oregon's bane and continue to mar it's otherwise green existence ... they went there to chop down trees of course, then got MAD when they started to run out ... never thought to plant, the Con Job way, to conserve lol LMFAO
His key card was actually revoked right after this happened, and he couldn't come to the capitol unless he gave the state troopers 24 hour notice.

He was given every opportunity to resign but declined.
One thing they all have in common is they seem to believe they're adorable.

Nearman may be close but is no man. He is well named for a POS.
Gee. I sure hope someone doesn't doxx him. I sure hope I don't see if if they do. And I sure hope I'm a good person who doesn't . . . you know.
