My problem with this is that it annihilates the difference between fact and fiction to the point where I have to apply "suspension of disbelief" to reality.
This is doing great things for my ability to believe quantum physics, believe in impossible things generally, and read Through The Looking Glass as a self- help guide.
Also too, Robert E Lee was the most respects military leader in America at the time. Lincoln would have been a fool to not offer command of the Army of the Potomac to him.
