Darn it, they are holding Star Trek hostage. I’ll have to wait a year to see the new stuff.

I guess this means that Colbert is going to be a cockholster for the Stupidest President in US history???

No one should be surprised by this. Trump always wanted to be a mob boss, so he started his extortion tour by extorting his suppliers and workers way back in the 80’s. He bought his concrete and other items from the mob because it was the only way to get concrete. That’s why so many building built at the time are glass and steel.

Paramount isn't worried about paying a bribe, they just don't want to over-pay and look like chumps

It's going to come down to the hardliners convincing the swing districters that there won't be any mid terms

The merger is worth a lot more to Paramount then the piddling bribe they paid Trump. They made the cost-effective move, as Trump knew they would. Sad but true.

“… Brendan Carr, who has effectively replaced the FCC’s board of commissioners with himself.” If Democrats can take back the reins of government, and I choose to believe they can, I wonder if they can put Humpty Dumpty together again. Commissions have to be reconstituted, staff have to be rehired, payment networks have to be repaired and corrective laws have to be passed. Never mind fixing the Supreme Court or getting foreign governments to trust us. What has been broken in just six months could take more than four years to repair. It can never be made like it was, but maybe it can be made stronger. Knowing the damage people with bad intent can do will help us arm for the inevitable future fights. We may never get to the point where we can reach for economic justice again, other than in a few blue states.

When I saw that in the wee hours of the morning, I terminated my Paramount+ subscription and in their box for why I was cancelling, I explained to them in plain language that they shit on the First Amendment by kowtowing to Trump's threats. They will get nothing more than scorn from me.

Good for you! I'd cancel mine if I had one.

South Park creators Parker and Stone have been voicing their frustrations (quite vocally) with the delay of their 27th season. This involves some dicey decisions by the powers that be about their streaming schedule and concerns about content (due to the buyer’s politics). We need South Park’s take no prisoners approach now more than ever.

I will also not be watching anything affiliated with Sky Dance. (Sorry Tom Cruise).

FFS legacy media can't die out fast enough.

thephantomcheese's avatar

But when that happens, how do we prevent the remaining media from turning into Brietbarts?

Runfastandwin's avatar

Good question. Would that really be any worse though? At least with Brietbart you know what you are getting.
