Not to be a pedant, cool story, but saved by the bell is a term from boxing. When someone is getting pummelled mercilessly and hadn't been knocked down by the time the round ends, with a bell.
Okay ha ha ha I’ve finally figured this geographical conundrum out: we’re talking about different Albanys. You’re in Albany NY, yes? I’m adjacent to redder than red Albany, OR. Glad that’s understood I thought I was seriously missing something!
No, I am in Oregon (work in Corvallis). The same Albany that had a George Floyd protest, a small one, but one none the less. Linn Co. might even get a little bluer as people are priced out of Benton.
Guess I know less about Albany than I thought including where the “Lexington area” is even though I partially grew up there. Fabulous encouraging news!
In another episode of IOKR, can you imagine, imagine!? if huge numbers of black or hispanic people were refusing to take the vaccine and ending up in the hospital, intubated. Imagine how viciously conservatives would attack them, how quickly republicans would find to pass laws to deny the unvaccinated health services. I'm so tired of the soft puff pieces asking me to care about these assholes willfully putting people at risk and sucking up our health care resources. My local paper ran an article that told me not to blame the unvaccinated because 10%, 10%! of those in the hospital had also had a vaccine. Fucking hell.
Now with oleandrin sauce presented on a bed of edible MyPillows. Your choice of rectal UV lights OR bleach tartufo for dessert. Offer does not include hospital stay when you contract Covid.
Yeah, I am. The fact that it's more mixed than Portland doesn't mean it's not a blue town.
None necessary! Thanks

The Cure is an alternative rock band from England. So this should clear up your COVID. Also, I love this song.https://www.youtube.com/wat...
"People who believe COVID vaccines are like the Holocaust are taking Zyklon B. We have achieved ludicrous irony!"
I’m genuinely curious to hear more of your blue town observations

But, what about all those sweet, sweet minimum wage jobs they created?

"Alabama: From Trump Rally To Mask Mandates"
I read that as "mask mandrakes." I *really* wanted to read that segment!
Southern Illinois is just nutty. I said it.
I had heard on the Internet that large doses of strychnine would prevent Covid. Or at least you're hearing it now.
Careful Imtoo when you yank off the mask it screams just like a hyuman!
