The GOP would very much like to use a Turnip presidency to push through greater limits on the Executive. In other words: a stealth Constitutional crisis. They envision using the dangers of electing Turnip to shift power (including the power to wage war and many foreign policy authorities) from the Executive to the Congress.

It is not just sleazy; it is fundamentally dangerous. Because the Congress is one inch away from mob rule.
