Yes, the most appropriate, non-political Memorial Day address is something like: "We must honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice by making sure that we are the most feared and despised power on earth which by the way will ensure that we will never run out of heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice."

That's how you can spot a faked sunrise in a movie: it moves up and to the left. But I'm sure they are all properly outraged over the President saying he won't send troops into harm's way unless it is "absolutely necessary". ... As opposed to ... what? GWB's just launching a war because he could? (or was that President Cheney's doing?)
