I own a small arsenal. As a military person, I've trained with them and have continued to take gun safety classes. Mine are registered. Its just that I think there should be limits. Gun safety doesn't have to be all or nothing.

Took a lot of pleasure in throwing out all the endless money begging spam NRA sent me lately.

"There's no data on why people are dropping their NRA memberships" - as the mailman I saw who among my neighbors is card-carrying NRA. Maybe 3% of the farmers & hillbillies here, even though 95% of us have freaking arsenals of weapons. These NRA guys are the 3%ers with big clips & closets of ammo. I also saw the "junk mail" that the NRA sends out, the little envelopes with an NRA sticker & new membership paperwork. They'll send them to young & old, rich & poor, mobile homes and million dollar ranches alike. People used to put those free stickers on everything in this whitebread backwater shithole, but even a half-wit will now think twice before putting that sticker on their truck, unless they're just doing it to troll their liberal aunt. The NRA brand is tainted, toxic.
