Cops get extremely upset when they're not the one and only source for "truth, justice, and the American way!" They expect protesters to stand around being shot at until they get around to rescuing them. Frequently the protesters who disarm one of these guys are jailed and charged with assault and battery (until the DA says, "I'll never get reelected if I prosecute this case" and drops the charges).
Guns are the source of all "legitimate political discourse."
I suspect within the year Trump will give a speech denouncing the January 6th Insurgency on the basis that if they had truly loved and support him, they would have been better armed.
He was interviewed by police and ended up not being charged. How is this different? LE often writes up charges that are later dismissed upon review of the evidence.

We've probably exchanged hellos at the post office or pharmacy or the DQ umpty times in the last 8 years.
