Reality is bleak enough, and Dennis Prager's disinformation factory does have a partnership with the Education Department. Eesh, no need to give them ideas!
OK, I actually have one thing to say about "Prager U" that might be considered somewhat obliquely positive.
My daughter used materials from "Prager U" for a high school project. Yes, at Minneapolis South; run by anarchist hippies. And she got an A on the project.
Of course, the topic was "Propaganda," and she sliced and diced the subject matter pretty thin.
In sort of a bizarre departure for a rightwing movement that hates DEI, the “museum” also includes a section on “six ladies of the Revolution,” so it’s shoehorning in some diversity without admitting to it.

These are called "tokens," and this trick is called "tokenism."
Given that Ken Ham has been leaning into Christian Nationalism extremely hard for some time now, I think we all should get ready for that shoe to drop, also, in addition.
"...In July, Florida became the first state to allow schools to incorporate instructional videos with a conservative viewpoint from vendor PragerU into their classroom materials.
Oklahoma and Montana rapidly followed. New Hampshire in September approved the use of online PragerU videos to satisfy financial literacy requirements in public schools. PragerU and one state education board member announced it was on the approved vendor list in Texas as well, but other state education officials denied it...."
One wonders how much further this rot has spread since 2023...
Somehow, Florida ranks close to Number 1 in many rankings of state educational systems. Most of that supposedly is based on higher education - which, as an elitist snob, I can hardly put a lot of credence in. Considering the potential impacts from cuts in research dollars and the continuing interference in the state university systems by the right wing assholes led by DeSantis, I really don't see Florida's higher education system maintaining "excellence". As for K-12, the amount of bullshit from "parental rights" types makes me thing that Florida's public education is doomed. Supposedly, DeSantis has taken steps to reduce the influence of right wing/religious bigots on school currirculums, but I am NOT convinced.
When my wife was still working in Special Ed in the Minneapolis Public Schools, they got a new Special Ed teacher from Florida. She was very good, too.
However, to my wife's surprise; the new teacher wasn't that new to the Twin Cities. Her husband had a corporate gig, which transferred him to the Twin Cities. She applied for jobs all over the metro area, but couldn't get hired.
She had to go back to college for two more years and a student teaching practicum to get licensure in Minnesota.
Now, she can take her Minnesota credentials anywhere and get a job on the spot. Maybe not in what's left of the Oklahoma schools, come to think of it.
But anywhere that has standards for teachers because they want kids to succeed later in life.
The affiliate I watch now bills their evening news as "the new evening newscast". I haven't noticed a big difference, not like when Sinclair bought two of the other networks in Reno. That difference was immediate and profound.
So I see they've included the mythical Betsy Ross making the flag. How attractive for the Liars For Jesus, who are a crossover group with the Liars For Short Fingers.
Will they be bringing David (I Lie For Jesus) Barton in to collab?
Well, the country's being run by a thug in an ill-fitting suit. He has most likely never read a book, or any substantial and substantive piece of writing. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that he despises American and international culture and learning. Plus, warping reality to suit his designs and whims is an imperative with him and those who (I assume) are largely scripting his every move, so of course he's going to go after schools, unis, museums, libraries, and free speech in general.
Ta, Dok. All these Dominionists are trash, and they're everywhere.
Thanks for correcting the record. I feel for this, b/c it's just so in keeping with every other awful thing that is happening.
That would be the world's saddest pledge drive. Also, too they can keep their fucking tote bag.
Never thought I would support home schooling.

I sure wish these reich wingers would stop calling themselves "patriots," because they're most assuredly not.

Oklahoma is dead last in education. I don't feel like looking it up, but I"m guessing the people in Montana and Florida also ain't too bright.

The rate the right is going, there won't be that many places where this can be found.
I saw that too, but then I saw that Florida's ranking in adult illiteracy is pretty abysmal.
But we know that Republicans would never cheat on their scores on education.
With decades of Republican control, there's no way I trust that Florida is so hot in education, nor the numbers it gives to indicate that is the case.
Isn't CBS the "propaganda network" now? Or soon to be.

So PragerU is NOT going to one-if-by-land-two-if-by-sea-three-if-by-teevee the Honkycaust?

Is there going to be a Prager U guide to the Epstein files?
"These are not the Epstein files you're looking for. You don't need to see his identification. Move along."
Good question to ask the head of the "Department of Education."
