If nothing else, the Republican rope-a-dope of "Refuse to accept compromise and then blame Democrats for not compromising" is getting less and less effective every time they try it.

He may be looking ahead to indictments and the tried and true mob boss habit of suddenly developing illnesses to keep him out of the clink until trial and go for sympathy points.
