I was just thinking about 2016 Lat night. Hillary won the popular vote but lost. And I seem to remember here on this mommyblog and elsewhere that there was talk that were electors who said they were giving their vote to Trump even before the election was run. Is that something like these pricks refusing to certify? We all know about the fake electors in 2020. I'm just trying to parse how many ways they could ratfuck the next election, because I know PAB and his cronies are planning to.
Biden had better have plans in effect to send in federal officials to monitor any state and county election officials talking about not certifying vote counts. And arrest them immediately if they do not do their job. Remember, it's not just a problem of certifying a county vote of 60% Trump, 40% Biden. That is not enough for these assholes, because "everyone I know voted for Trump so I think he got 90% of the vote". Of course trying to flip the entire state by adding thousands of fraudulent votes Gor Trump. Or kick it back to a GOP legislature, governor, or secretary of state to hold off. Which then goes to Congress, with just one vote per state. Meaning Trump may win even if he loses by 15 million votes. There might be a war if that happens. One thing Trump has made obvious is that the country has existed for almost 240 years because until McConnell and Trump, all politicians respected the intent of the constitution. Because the actual language of the constitution has several big holes allowing authoritarian dominance. Especially when assisted by a corrupt Supreme Court controlled by religious zealots.
One (additional) advantage we have here is that, not only is Joe Biden the guy in the White House and bossing the executive branch, but since he is not longer running for re-election himself, he will have a bit more freedom to act in ways that would rally national opposition if he were doing it for his own benefit.

Yeah, this is worrying. Dok, being a mere Doctor of Rhetoric rather than a lawyer or a Constitutional specialist, leaves out an important aspect. If Trumpys can gum up the acceptance of enough Electoral College votes to deny Harris a majority, it throws the election to the House of Representatives. Where the votes are cast and tallied by state delegations, not individual Representatives. Thanks to the preponderance of small-population rural states, Republicans have a built in edge there that's almost impossible to beat.
It's also too late to ensure that we have strong candidates in every red district that's even remotely possible to win. We will just have to hope that that has happened already.
Later (soon later) we will need to identify individual districts that might benefit from outside assistance. I'll be looking at that myself no later than this weekend.
But I can identify one right now: Mary Peltola in Alaska. She was recently elected to the House in a special election, you may recall. She is running for her first regular re-election this year. And she would cast Alaska's vote for President in the House all by herself. Hers is a must-hold seat. Act accordingly.
