Similar in Portland. Leadership doesn't wanna do anything about it either.

Leadership is failing up there too it looks like.

Extremely high taxation on empty units is part of the solution for homelessness. The longer they are vacant the higher the rate.

Good labor news: in addition to the Amazon workers' win today towards unionization in Alabama, the NY Daily News has voted to unionize. They await Tribune Publishing's recognition. https://www.nydnunion.com/

Guess that tax cuts should be (retroactively?) voidable to address such problems promptly then.

Susan Sarandon is now wanking that the stimulus "only" calls for a $1,400 cheque, claiming Biden pulled a "bait and switch" with the voters by promising a $2,000 cheque. Apparently, Susan is math-challenged and can't add $600 and $1,400.

Dammit, Janet.

I am in no way minimizing the pain caused by the closure of bars and restaurants, but I believe those workers will have new opportunities when the pandemic passes, because other bars and restaurants will open in place of the ones that closed. The disruption sucks. Give these people money to help them get through. They will be employed again if they want to be.

The entire enterprise, the primary objective, the overwhelming goal of Big Bidness is to cut employee "overhead" to the bone. What's supposed to happen once we're all unemployed is less clear.
