Bobby Jr may be a delusional narcissist, but I still enjoyed his takedown of Hannity when he pointed out that all of Hannity's accusations were taken from the Trump playbook. In order. "I do my own research"--that shitweasel never made me laugh so hard.

"RFK Jr. knows full well he’ll 'take more votes' from the Republican nominee; that’s why he’s running," their email says. "But do not be fooled — the only way to reverse America’s decline at the hands of Biden is to elect a Republican as president next year."

Can't even put his name--TRUMP--in that last sentence. Oh sure, no primaries yet, but he is so far out in front of the others, he will be the nominee.

QAnon Fears R.F.K., Jr., Will Take Votes Away from J.F.K., Jr.

By Andy Borowitz

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Members of the group known as QAnon are warning that the Independent candidacy of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., will siphon off votes from the highly anticipated 2024 bid of John F. Kennedy, Jr.

Harland Dorrinson, a QAnon spokesman, called R.F.K., Jr.,’s decision to run as an Independent “a blatant attempt to confuse voters” who were planning to support his celebrated cousin.

"Maybe this is what R.F.K., Jr., was planning from the very beginning,” he said. “I’m not a paranoid person, but it almost seems like a conspiracy.”

“We at QAnon need to spread the word that there is only one real Kennedy running in 2024, and that’s J.F.K., Jr.,” he said. “Accept no substitutes.”

For his part, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., appeared undeterred by QAnon’s criticism, as he announced that he had already received several major endorsements from voices inside his head.

Don't they just HATE to tell the truth over at Politidildo, doesn't it just stick in their craw? To write a whole article pushing the RNC line, citing each and every talking point and fallacy, only to contradict all that crap in the last paragraph. Of course, they've already made their point, got their licks in, and what kind of Poindexter reads all the way to the end?

He’s crazy, but he must know he’s the black sheep of, well, he’s a black sheep. He’s far too nutty and irresponsible to be a democrat, and he’s not thoroughly sinister and terrible enough for republicans. Thus his “independent” island to himself. Even the “no labels” independents must realize that despite Biden having one nagging weakness (he’s old), Biden is sane and a rational man. Trump is an insane criminal conman and obvious threat to humanity. RFK Jr isn’t a serious candidate, so anyone voting for him is throwing away their vote. Even if you are hopelessly offended by Biden’s age, you need to use your vote to prevent the orange apocalypse.

I've ranted as actual libertarian (and secessionist...), Republicans still think of 3rd party candidates as benefitting themselves bc the small role it played in 2000 and 2016, even though the conditions are quite different. What they're really unprepared for is that a Democrat might dominate the swing states thoroughly enough that it wouldn't matter if a Republican won the popular vote.

I know the words are English, but I'm having a really hard time wrapping my mind around the concept "if a Republican won the popular vote". It makes about as much sense to me as "if that duck shot my wife".

Maybe RFK Jr should run for the King of the Island of Misfit Toys because he just doesn't fit in anywhere, like a train with square wheels or a squirt gun that only shoots jelly (the former is pretty bad, but the second one always seemed like a pretty cool toy to me), he is just a misfit.

To this day, I still can't figure out why that dolly was on the Island of Misfit Toys. Maybe she was a "misfit" on the inside - like she was stuffed with razor blades?

That still does not mean you can compare all independents to idiots.

That verges on bigotry.

What if I said you were a Nazi cause you may have a German name?

Think about it.

At no point did anyone compare all independents to idiots.

''He’s decided to run as an idiot. Excuse me, independent. Damn autocorrect!"

Show me where that actually mentions RFK Jr's name. I presume that autocorrect does not know that RFK Jr. was referenced unlesss is is a new AI. No matter what there are people here who refuse to believe that DECENT independents exist

The reference "he" is to RFK Jr. because it is assumed that people here are able to read.

Actually, I would hope that you never had, but it was not my point to insult you, but to point out that making false assumptions about a name can work in many ways.

And even if you did not say all independenst are idiots, some might take it that way.

It was just happenstance that I used that reference to try to make the point, as whether you like it or not, I do not like being accused of someone I'm not anymore than you do. Someone here actually accused me of being a traitor (no lie) because I am not registered as a Democrat.

At least I still have the right to be an independent.

"And even if you did not say all independenst are idiots, some might take it that way." Only idiots would take it that way.

Expand full comment

Yet here you are, still sharing.

Expand full comment

Independents are not necessarily idiots, but in the context of a two-party system with a first-past-the-post voting system, and one of the two parties basically fasicst, there's basically no case for actualy voting for a third party, unless the outcome is guaranteed to be completely lopsided one way or the other.

Expand full comment

Again, Independent is NOT A PARTY. IT IS NOT A THIRD PARTY!

NOT ALL INDEPENDENTS VOTE FOR THIRD PARTIES - PERIOD!

You all assume that independent voters vote for third parties, something that the MSM pushes just as much as other bullshit they push from from Repubs.

I have been a progressive liberal and not IN ANY FUCKING POLITICAL PARTY since I registered to vote in 1976 (for Carter).

And I have voted for Dems in almost every election since, except for some local races. This is such as easy thing to understand. And yet I get virtually no-one here that understands this. Kan r wonks reed?

I feel like I now have to put a disclaimer at the top of every post as it seems that even intelligent people like you just don't get it..

What can I say now other than ''show me on the doll where I said I was voting for a third party''? THERE IS NO DOLL.

Expand full comment

If you tend to vote for Democrats in the general and for the most part share their views, what is the advantage of not registering as a Democrat? It gives you the option of voting in their party primaries, which can be very important races.

I suppose that reason for registering a party preference strikes me as strong enough that I subconsciously "just assumed" that you'd vote 3rd-party. But as The Onion reported some while back, "Kyle Dwyer, spokesperson for the Akimbo Institute, which analyzes admonishment-related issues.", pointed out that one should never assume -- because it makes an "ass" of "u" and "me".

Show me on the self-same doll where I said "All independents are idiots." RFK jr is an idiot does not equal "all independent voters are idiots." RFK Jr is running as an independent, he is an idiot, therefore anyone who votes independent is an idiot is NOT my fallacy. But anyone who fails to vote for Biden vs Trump in the coming melee...well, I think the dunce cap fits them better than a mortarboard, Mr Hothead.

everyone knows Democrats are well known for willfully purposefully and repeatedly hanging out with far-right nutjobs like Michael Flynn and Steve Bannon and Joe Rogan.

they really thought we were as dumb and gullible as they are and would just be 'ah yes. this Kennedy chap is a regular normal Democrat that i will vote for because Biden Old.' that never was going to happen and was plainly obvious to any non-moron and now they realize they made an oopsie. tough shit.
