Of course, that would put them at odds with Trump, the party’s true leader. It’s revealing that neither McCarthy nor his allies could persuade Trump to stand by him.

I think it makes total sense that he wouldn't support McCarthy. He wants chaos and dysfunction. He also knew McCarthy wouldn't try to bury the DOJ investigations into him (which isn't even possible). The "impeachment inquiry" is a scam and a flop and everyone knows it.

Nobody misunderstands pop culture and literature references like Republicans. From every use of Born in the USA at a rally, through the confusion over what a witch hunt is, to the befuddlement over whether the Death Star is good or bad, Republicans can be counted on to misquote classics, rock lyrics and The Simpsons in complete confidence.

Yes, absolutely. Didn't trumpf use "Macho Man" or "YMCA" at some of his rallies? *giggles*

My fave is every Republican who loves Rage Against the Machine.

I'm not familiar with their music, but the name alone suggests that they are not, you know, pro-Machine, lol.

Yeah that’s pretty much it. There is mass Republican confusion about who the Machine is, just as they don’t realize who The Man is, or The System, or The Baddies, lol

" Gaetz considers Jordan his “mentor” (in God knows what) and nominated him as speaker back in January. Jordan would likely protect Gaetz, who’d only become more powerful if his fellow fashion victim wields the gavel."

I mean, Jordan already has experience covering up sex crimes.

So in the battle of the extremists, racism triumphs over wrestling.

Now try to get 218 votes in the full House, dickhead.

McCarthy is as feckless as ever.

"Don't nominate me, I'm not running."

"However, if you asked (begged) really nicely, I might consider coming back as a unity candidate, hence my inappropriate news conference where I shared my ideas on Israel that nobody asked for."

Jordan certainly has experience protecting predators, I see why Gaetz is backing him. As for Mace, as a member of the party she fucked, she's not the Adultress.

Now that Nancy "A" Mace has had days to investigate Gym Jordan's reputation, has she anything to say about him?

I did not realize Mace had that shirt special made for her oppression role. I wonder if it's going to become a right wing girl fashion statement.

Kevin was the best they had. trying to handwave a MAGA dream speaker into existence is what they would like.

a little late to find out that MAGA isn't an internally consistent platform.

Story links on CNN Right now:

"It’s unclear if any speaker candidate can get the votes"

"Opinion: The next House speaker should listen to the Republicans who ousted McCarthy"

So very fucked. Much leader.

No. No they should not. They should put those trouble-makers in their place by removing committee assignments and any privileges. Disruption for disruption's sake is not acceptable.

Just read this on the cnn.com live update feed on the speaker race:

The House GOP is now voting on Reps. Steve Scalise vs. Jim Jordan for speaker nominee, according to multiple members.

One member, Colorado Rep. Ken Buck, told CNN he voted “present” since neither man would answer his question yesterday about whether the 2020 election was stolen.

Isn't the Speakers Job supposed to have someone who can be understood? If Jim J gets the gavel the Clerk and their staff is going to have to keep interrupting and asking him to repeat himself so they can get it all on the record. That's sure to make things easier.
