The problem is that Trump, in the minds of the public, will get credit for things he didn't do.

The era of smug has only begun. At least until the midterms, when the GOP will be on their apology tour promising the unprecedented damage done by Biden will take far more than 2 years to fix. For the next year, the smug faces of the clown brigade will be everywhere. They reclaimed power, inexplicably, by gaslighting voters about the price of groceries and an open border bringing rapists to the suburbs. Now they control Congress and the White House, which is proof that the system is broken. After 2020 and J6, 2021, no healthy democracy or system of government would allow the return of a man like that.

And remember: In MAGAtland, a 1% win is a landslide of overwhelming proportions, and don't you dare say otherwise!

Leaders of other nations know Trump is a dangerous, petty and vindictive man. So when he has a call with the president of Mexico, of course she keeps it positive and pledges to work with the US. Trump cares only about optics, and how those optics glorify him. It’s why the GOP can’t quit him, he’s a perfect modern day political figurehead. He’s prone to flattery, has exploitable power that is useful to the party, and he’s lazy and disinterested in policy or governance. He’s very much their tool as much as politics and the GOP are his.

The president of Mexico immediately corrected Trump, by saying she did not agree to “shut down” the border, but rather she agreed to continue to work with the US to reduce illegal entry, a process that has been ongoing for years. But, it was a phone call, and a tweet, and it didn’t require much time or effort. Problem solved.

This is all so tedious and tiresome and he hasn’t even placed his tiny hand on a stack of Playboy magazines and promised more American carnage.

Kinda, yes.

Moses Mike couldn’t rename a post office this year without begging Hakeem Jeffries for help. And now he’ll have an even smaller majority to work with.

No, I do not care what these right wing Trump suckers say on the Sunday Shows. . . .

On the other hand I *do* care about all the asshole Dems who are now whining that Old Joe pardoned his son. A big fuck you to all of them. What- is this some displaced "Trump Rage™" or something? Hunter Biden's prosecution was *totally* political so just shove it.

Regret's avatar

I don't care that Joe pardoned Hunter, I am slightly annoyed that he kept saying he wouldn't do that and then did. Look Joe, if you're going to break your word, then use your last remaining presidential immunity to send assassins after Trump.

From what I am seeing at the moment, Presidential pardons function a little like the Honours List in the UK- the Prime Minister names a fuck load of people everyone knows don't deserve anything but who were personally very generous to said PM, people get outraged about it for a little while, then forget all about it.

In case you needed validation for WHY you stopped watching MSNBC during the day (or completely), they have a conga line of pundit idiots saying President Biden looks corrupt for pardoning his son -- instead of leaving him vulnerable to convicted felon trump's retribution thugs.

DO. NOT. WATCH.

I read that after the election, MSNBC's viewership dropped 50%. Surprised to see that anyone still watches it. Like the Sunday shows, you watch that stuff only if you get paid to do so, like Mr. Mora here.

Sound advice. In fact, I am done with MSNBC entirely for a good, long time.

As an ex- hunter I can see no sport whatsoever in a canned hunt. Disgraceful!
