Back in the late 1970’s, when I became extremely ill from chicken pox, the clinic instructed my mom to bring me in through the back door to prevent other people and children catching it from me (this was prior to the vaccine) They didn’t behave as cavalierly as this lunatic does around highly infectious viruses because they knew the consequences.

If anyone reading this is over 50, make sure you get that shingles vaccine. Shingles is the chicken pox you had as a child coming back for another round, except it's much more painful and deadly, because you are old now.

How are more people not more outraged at the shit this administration is doing? Making sure that ecoli/listeria/other bad shit isn't in the milk, and milk containing products seems pretty god damned important.

Guess I'm taking my coffee black and eating my Wheaties dry for the foreseeable future.

But maybe this is just the 1st step in the goal of making everyone buy "raw milk" (fucking insanity)

I buy raw milk from a certified raw dairy in PA - certified raw milk dairies (so far) must adhere to much stricter standards than milk destined for pasteurization as these farmers really don't want to sicken or kill their customers. I've been drinking this high quality full fat A2A2 (referring to the type of casein the cows make, less allergenic than most commercial milk from cows bred to produce more milk but lower quality and highly allergenic to many) milk from a single breed of cow and put in glass jars that is then immediately chilled. The cows are on pasture 100% of the time, sick cows are sequestered from the herd until they are well, calves are not separated from their mothers until weaned. I don't tolerate commercial milk well but have done very well with this milk, seeing an improvement in my health in the decades I've been drinking it (beginning in my late 40s, I'm 68 now).

the study I've seen used to terrorize people about the "dangers" of raw milk actually shows that more deaths are attributed to contaminated pasteurized milk than to raw milk though raw milk may have more "outbreaks".

I have not seen any efforts to force people to buy raw milk, though the current administration seems to want to force people to do without medical care, food assistance, affordable housing, and a clean environment.

I just hope the certified raw milk dairies don't drop THEIR high standards, I value using it in my pour over coffee and on my cereal....

The risks of raw milk, much like consuming raw meat just don't offer enough (any) benifit to me.

While it makes sense to provide your body with the necessary nutrients it needs to maintain itself robustly, taken to an extreme, the "failure" to fight off disease because presumably you weren't pumping in enough nutrients (or weren't religiously taking your super special supplements purchased directly from Doctor Weasel Measles) marks you as condemned by babby jebus and deserving of suffering.

My mom gave us cod liver oil in the 50s. Twice.

We also got vaccinated as they became available, so we were extra protected I guess.

This guy is entirely too happy to have measles. Giving it away for free.

It's so swell that no one has taken back that license and closed his clinic, so he can continue this crap.

Ta, Robyn. "Divine appointment?" Did Divine's spirit come to Earth and feed the bad doctor a dog turd? Has he been checked for parasites? I'd say I'm gobsmacked, but this is beyond the pale.

Horrifyingly, this might only be the beginning. Next there will be government-backed claims by the religious right that diseases are caused by demons and the germ theory of disease is a heathen plot inspired by Satan.

Reverting to the medical ideas of the ancient Greeks: The Human body contains blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile. These are the things that make up its constitution and cause its pains and health. Health is primarily that state in which these constituent substances are in the correct proportion to each other, both in strength and quantity, and are well mixed. Pain occurs when one of the substances presents either a deficiency or an excess, or is separated in the body and not mixed with others.[8] The body depends heavily on the four humors because their balanced combination helps to keep people in good health. Having the right amount of humor is essential for health. The pathophysiology of disease is consequently brought on by humor excesses and/or deficiencies.

That's kinda what I thought. I truly thought that everyone alive today had come to accept germ theory.

It's incredible to me that there are people who have such a deep need to oppose fucking facts that they'd deny the existence of germs.

Honestly, flat-earthers are more understandable.
