If he thought he could get 30x from any investment, he'd grab it in a heartbeat. That's the rub -- what else could he be doing with his time to maximize personal gain? Or, is this the juiciest option to skim cash without any accountability?
There is nothing such as a slam dunk in politics. While a fresh, progressive candidate could be good, that would entirely depend on whether she could win. I prefer McAuliffe over any Repub.
Is this convention rather than primary thing because they are a commonwealth rather than a homely old state? Also what’s with the one-term limit for governors?
He does at least bring back fond memories of another private equity guy - none other than Mittens and Bain Capitol. Whoever runs against this new guy should do lots of research into the companies he's undoubtedly shut down, jobs lost, etc.
[Chase's] supporters, who presumably exist, accused Snyder's backers in the state GOP of engineering a “disassembled convention" instead of a primary in order to hurt her chances, which were never good in the first place.(bolding mine)And yet I have gotten endless emails over the last six months or more, telling me that this woman is posed to be governor of VA unless I send them money right now to stop her.
Willie Sutton's answer to why he robbed banks would be the same for why Republicans run for office: It's where the money is.

I don't disagree, but if I lived in a state ruled by Repubs I think legal weed would be practically a necessity.

OH. MY. GOD.

Chase ran as “Trump in heels."
Trump himself is already Trump in heels.
But you didn't say "Uno."

"I am profoundly humbled" in Republican-speak means "I am profoundly arrogant" in English.
When the gop hits the fan everything gets covered.
Beware of that chain mail blackmail.
