Damn. My tomatoes got hit hard by some virus this year, but I think I have enough to make one batch!

Excellent opportunity for my volunteer hybrid roma-sungolds.

No problem. I am the queen of crop rotation.

I am very lucky.  I live way out in the country surrounded by people growing tomatoes, peppers, onions, cucumbers etc for processing. I got a beautiful bushel of tomatoes last week for making salsa.Â

I hope Wonkette’s community garden in Chicagoland thought to plant some varieties of basil, 'cause basil and 'maters are sooooooooooooooooo great together. Well, a bit of balsamic doesn't go amiss either.

We used to make our pizzas using the onions we wore on our belts. Such was the custom at the time.

If these 'matoes have calves like cantelopes, I hope that you repatriot them to whatever godless, commie country they came from.

Well, we didn't do much in the garden this year, but these came up on their own, and so far only one has turned color. I'm just assuming they're roma X sungold based on the color and shape and because both of those varieties had been in that area in the past few years. They do the tear-drop shape thing, and now they're starting to turn orange/yellow.

Two vines came up on their own, and they'll probably yield 3-4 dozen small tomatoes. I'll let you know how they are.
