Robert DeNiro, one of the greatest actors of all time, does not do a whole lot of interviews. Yet, for some reason or another, he ended up on CNN's Reliable Sources talking to Brian Stelter this morning.
And it was FABULOUS.
DeNiro started off by talking about how he does not really believe that all the Fox News people actually "buy into all his craziness," because he is very clearly an optimist. This prompted Stelter to ask DeNiro about the "backlash" against him from said Fox News people don't like how mean he is to poor Donald Trump.
"And when you say that, folks on Fox come after you. I remember the Tony's when you got up there and cursed," Stelter said, to which DeNiro responded with "Fuck 'em! Fuck 'em!"
Because really, what else can you say.
Robert Deniro just dropped the F bomb on Brian Stelter CNN youtu.be
"Well, you know, this is cable so it's not an FCC violation but it is still a Sunday morning," Stelter replied, before asking him why he feels the need to "lash out" in that way.
First of all, Robert DeNiro is Robert DeNiro. He can say "fuck" whenever he wants. I don't make the rules. You let Robert DeNiro be Robert DeNiro and you thank him for his contributions to the motion picture industry and also for bringing Joe Pesci out of retirement for The Irishman , because we as a nation have suffered through a bleak, Pesci-less existence for far too long.
But really. Asking him why he needs to swear? On the list of horrid things happening in this country right now, where does "Robert DeNiro saying 'fuck,' as Robert DeNiro is wont to do" register? What kind of person wouldn't respond to "What do you think about the Fox News people not liking you" with "fuck 'em?" What would the other response to that be? "Oh golly, well they're entitled to their opinion and I'm entitled to mine because this is America?" or "Gosh it really kind of hurts my feelings?" Please.
Anyway, DeNiro explained to Stelter that he "needs" to lash out in that way because the country is being run by a "gangster" who has put us all in a terrible situation. The least anyone can do at this point is to swear, frankly.
Anyway, this is now your open thread! Go talk amongst yourselves! Swearing is allowed.

Here's the thing. He will not be brought up on treason charges. Ever. This is not treason. Under any definition of the law.
And the more people like you insist the law is wrong because you don't like it the more power you take from the word. So advocate for a looser legal definition. Or advocate for declaring a war. But you don't get to change the definition to suit yourself.
