Robert Mueller Just Asking If Russian Troll Farm Lawyer Has A Hotline To The Kremlin

You got some 'splainin' to do, Counselor Eric Dubelier! How the hell did court documents from the Russian troll farm case wind up tweeted out from a Russian shitpost account? Those documents are only supposed to be used for purposes of defending your client in DC. How exactly did they escape your file cabinet and hop across the Atlantic?

Let's rewind the tape. Remember last year when Robert Mueller indictedRussian oligarch Yevgeniy "Putin's chef" Prigozhin, two of his companies, Concord Catering and Concord Management, and 13 hackers from the "Internet Research Agency"? The rest of the defendants stayed safely out of Mueller's reach in Russia, but Concord Management actually showed up to defend itself in American court, using the proceedings to throw dirt on the Special Counsel while simultaneously extracting maximum info on the investigation through the discovery process.

Concord's litigator Eric Dubelier, of the well-respected firm Reed Smith, has done everything short of leap onto the courtroom table and proclaim himself Qanon in this gonzo case . Remember that time he filed a brief quoting the frat flick Animal House, then accused the judge of bias when she reprimanded him?

The Special Counsel's argument is reminiscent of Otter's famous line, "Flounder, you can't spend your whole life worrying about your mistakes! You f**ked up . . . you trusted us. Hey, make the best of it."

Just your normal lawyer stuff, NBD!

Dubelier has been arguing for months that he needs access to every detail of the classified Mueller investigation to mount a proper defense, and he has to be able to share it with his Russian clients, including Yevgeniy Prigozhin, who owns the defendant company Concord Management. No doubt Judge Dabney Friedrich will be very impressed with Dubelier's diligent protection of the documents, as laid out in yesterday's filing:

On October 22, 2018, the newly created Twitter account @HackingRedstone published the following tweet: "We've got access to the Special Counsel Mueller's probe database as we hacked Russian server with info from the Russian troll case Concord LLC v. Mueller. You can view all the files Mueller had about the IRA and Russian collusion. Enjoy the reading!"

The now-suspended @HackingRedstone account tweeted out a mountain of gobbledygook, including forged documents intended to discredit the Mueller investigation. But in the shitpile were more than 1,000 files which could be identified by their unique filing labels as having come directly from Special Counsel discovery disclosures, although the files themselves seem to have been randomly scrambled to match them with different labels.

The tweet also included a link to a webpage located on an online file-sharing portal. This webpage contained file folders with names and folder structures that are unique to the names and structures of materials (including tracking numbers assigned by the Special Counsel's Office) produced by the government in discovery. The FBI's initial review of the over 300,000 files from the website has found that the unique "hashtag" values of over 1,000 files on the website matched the hashtag values of files produced in discovery.

In addition to ThinkProgress reporter Casey Michel, the @HackingRedstone account tried to bait Russian troll hunter Josh Russell with the same bullshit. Here's an interesting thread -- we'll have more on this ham-handed plot to smear Robert Mueller later.

But back to yesterday's Mueller filing. The FBI says government servers weren't hacked, and furthermore some of the files appear to have been coded using the document management software Relativity. Robert Mueller doesn't use that program, but guess who does ... 

 Heckuva a coincidence, no? 

OKAY, BUT! Concord's lawyers have a very good answer for this, and it is to blame it on those lousy Russian hackers. We shit you not!

Defense counsel advised that the vendor hired by the defense reported no unauthorized access to the non-sensitive discovery. Defense counsel concluded, "I think it is a scam peddling the stuff that was hacked and dumped many years ago by Shaltai Boltai," referencing a purported hack of Concord's computer systems that occurred in approximately 2014.

 Shaltai Boltai, named for the Russian Humpty Dumpty, is a Russian hacking group that breached Concord's servers in 2014. Which would be FOUR YEARS BEFORE Robert Mueller's team applied the discovery labeling tweeted out by the @HackingRedstone account. (The balls on these people ...!)

And, oh by the way, Mr.BlutarskyDubelier, if your client would like to view the files in this case, he is of course free to hop on his jet and fly into Dulles to have a look. In fact, the Special Counsel would be delighted to show them to Mr. Prigozhin if he would just present himself within the jurisdiction.

[T]he government has never sought to bar Court-approved individual officers and employees of Concord from reviewing sensitive discovery materials in the United States offices of Reed Smith under the security protections established by the Court's protective order. Indeed, the government does not oppose such a review even by indicted officers and employees of Concord, as their appearance in the United States would allow them to stand trial.

But sending all of it to Russia so the Kremlin can put it on blast through whichever cutout entity they settle on now that Wikileaks is burnt? NO FUCKING WAY. And there's plenty of terrorism law to back up submitting evidence to the judge ex parte , because that's how we do when the country is attacked. AND ANOTHER THING!

Okay, we're not sure what the OTHER THING is in this classified addendum submitted directly to Judge Friedrich, but safe bet it refers to this cryptic sentence in the public filing.

[T]he sensitive discovery identifies uncharged individuals and entities that the government believes are continuing to engage in operations that interfere with lawful U.S. government functions like those activities charged in the indictment.

The bastards are still at it. So GFYS, Yevgeniy -- Robert Mueller sees you coming, and he's not giving you shit!
