I'm not bothered by Repubs wasting all that time on trying to find 100k invalid signatures. Dems will be busy reaching out to voters and turning Florida blue.

The media needs to do, well, a lot of things, but one of them is to remind people that George Soros is a Jew, and Republicans know that, meaning that every complaint about Soros is antisemitism. Republicans must not be allowed to blame America's problems on an innocent group.

Ta, Robyn. How on earth is this legal? Even in FL, this is beyond the pale.

Despite the rhetoric being "pro-choice", is not "pro-abortion". You may not like abortion at all, but like the government being involved in the private business of citizens even less

"...what are the election police doing asking people’s relatives about their political signatures, instead of the people who did the signing"?

Deliberately outing individuals as pro choice to their families, is what the election police are doing. Just another intimidation tactic.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been showing up at people's homes who signed petitions to put Amendment 4 before Florida voters. Amendment 4, a ballot initiative meant to reverse Florida’s draconian 6-week abortion ban, was signed with far more signatures than needed to place it on the ballot and has been polling in the 60% range.

Now, DeSantis has directed his election police as part of an effort to intimidate voters.

Just as the OECS’s first big foray mysteriously targeted black men, so too have the visits in this crude effort to frighten voters out of supporting Amendment 4. In a rising number of incidents, OECS, under the aegis of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, isn’t just showing up at people's homes asking about their signatures; they’re coming in with folders containing various personal information about their targets.

In some ways, this comes as no surprise. When the Florida GOP saw the massive surge in petitions for the amendment — well over the signature threshold — a sense of panic set in. Amendment 4 wasn’t just moving Democrats; it was moving more affluent, more educated Republican women and complicating the prospects of Republican candidates from the state legislature up to the Republican Presidential campaign.

Miami Herald: today

One year after state regulators deemed residents of a North Miami nursing home in “immediate jeopardy of serious harm” a resident was found decomposing in a closet.

De Santis probably has two regulators for the whole state, while he can send investigators and police tracking down petition signers.

How horrible...and more than a 'little late' on so many levels. Criminal to say the least.

Big Republican money is making its move in Florida now.

Anti Prop 3 (marijuana initiative) ads are saturating the local channels -- "It's being funded by big corporations...it won't allow you to grow your own pot! So don't vote for it!"

Anti Prop 4 (abortion initiative) ads are up -- "The language ("before viability...patient's health...patient's healthcare provider") is too indistinct! So don't vote for it!"

Elected Republicans expect you to serve their will instead of them serving the will of the people.

How many votes does George Soros have in Florida! Fuck DeSantis! We also passed a law giving voting rights back to the incarcerated that full filled their sentence. He immediately amended the law requiring that they repay every penny of legal fees. So most have not got back their right to vote.

Repay their legal fees but no one could tell them how much they actually owed, wasn’t that it? So even if they had the cash to do so, they couldn’t find out how much and to whom they should pay?

Just imagine what DeSantis will do if Harris takes Florida. Instead of the thought police knocking on your door and asking questions, they will knock on your door, drag you out of your house, and interrogate you at the police station. "If you vant to see your children again you vill sign ze papers."

George Soros is 94. He can’t have that many years left in him. What are republicans going to do when they lose their favorite Jewish boogeyman?

I have to say - if George Soros at 94 is responsible for all “this” then I would say we should let him run things as he wants because his 94yo intellect and conspiracy skills are certainly better than everyone else’s.
