Does Ezra Klein still think Charlie Kirk practiced politics the right way?

That one grown-up, when we were kids, who always said, "Come here so I can hit you."

`

As with Chicago, Portland, and who knows where else, they don't want a civil war, not really. They don't want us to secede, or emigrate. They want us to stay here and be victims while we support them with our tax dollars.

"But he doesn’t do book tours in drag. That we know of."

I mean, as drag names go, "Auntie Fa" was right there.

My Dad was one.

Ironically, some of his neighbors on the street where he grew up were Spanish families, from Spain, fleeing the Spanish Civil War, i.e., fascism.

He was pals with some of the kids from those families, and I remember him saying that no matter how little money they had, the Spanish boys always dressed like a million bucks and looked PERFECT.

I am seriously thinking of leaving this country because everything seems utterly hopeless here. And frankly, this place is fucking depressing.

I work in high ed, and the fact that these students attacked this guy this way, putting his life and his family’s life in danger, honestly just makes me wish a virus would come and just wipe out every right wing shithead in this country. I loath these people and I’m tired of living amongst them.

I help care for my elderly mom. When she is no longer with us, it may be time for me to take advantage of an opportunity I have to leave, as much as that breaks my heart.

The irony writes itself. A historian who literally studies fascism gets chased out of the country by people insisting they’re protecting it from fascism.

America’s freedom fighters have become the hall monitors of authoritarianism, reporting professors instead of reading them.

The fact that anti-fascists are moving from the United States to Spain is undoubtedly a great source of amusement to El Caudillo.

It's a good time to reread Mark Bray's September 11, 2020 WaPo op-ed 'Five myths about antifa' https://archive.ph/CfUIA

No chance the Washington Post would publish this in October 2025 – Democracy Throttled in Deliberate Darkness there.
