My man in congress, the most excellent Maxwell Frost (D), and everyone in his operation have earned SERIOUS political juice with this victory. They were out there early on this race, and were sure to let everybody know. They paired old-school, door-to-door GOTV efforts with a Gen-Z-powered phone/text bank ...an energetic hustle that certainly got my ass in gear. And the sole TV ad (as far as I saw) was sharply focused on the insane FL abortion ban (which had the potential to be tricky, because it was MAN: pro choice, WOMAN: Forced birth). Well done, Rep. Frost, and my fellow, not-dead-yet Florida Democrats!

I blanked on the capital as well, and share your frustration with unalphabetized capitals.

I'm also getting way more familiar with world geography from playing this game. Love it! I even do the "where was this taken?" and "Name this state" games, even though the state game is trivial for Americans. Colorado and Wyoming are the only REALLY ambiguous ones.

I do statele to warm up; I'm usually about half asleep.

Wyoming is further north and so the east and west borders are at a sharper angle, at least in the projection that Worldle uses.

Representative Dan Goldman, Democrat of New York, on Wednesday announced he would file a formal censure of Representative Elise Stefanik, Republican of New York, accusing her of peddling voter fraud conspiracy theories that fueled the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the Capitol and supporting rioters who violently threatened members of Congress, referring to them as “hostages.”

...“Our preference would be for Republicans to recognize that kind of rhetoric has to stop and find a spine and stand up to Donald Trump,” Mr. Goldman said in an interview. He said he would consider seeking to force a vote in the future, if G.O.P. leaders fail to take up the matter themselves, something that appears exceedingly unlikely.
