Sarah Huckabee Sanders THROUGH With Uppity Black Lady Reporters And Their So-Called 'Questions'

Sarah Huckabee Sanders has some more horseshit to say, everyone! Or rather, in this case, she has horseshit to NOT SAY. After General John Kelly told America the Civil War started as a simple argument over a parking space and that none of this would have happened if people had just COMPROMISED, reporter April Ryan had a simple question: DOES THE WHITE HOUSE SUPPORT SLAVERY? Y/N. This should not be a hard question in ANY FUCKING AMERICAN WHITE HOUSE IN THE YEAR OF OUR FUCKING LORD 2017, but in the Trump White House, weird! It is!

(If you are familiar with April Ryan, you know she is a black lady. We only point it out because this adds to this administration's pattern of being dismissive toward black people in general, and black women in particular.)

Let's roll the tape:  

RYAN: What is the definition of compromise as it relates to slavery and the Civil War?

SANDERS: Look, I’m not going to get in and relitigate the Civil War. Like I told you yesterday. I think I’ve addressed the concerns that a lot of people had and the questions that you had, and I’m not going to relitigate history here.

RYAN: I’m going to ask the question again—

SANDERS: Why don’t you ask it in a way that — you’re apparently accusing me —

RYAN: I’m not accusing. I’m asking a question. Seriously. The question is, does this administration believe, does this president believe, slavery was wrong? And before you answer, Mary Frances Berry, the historian, said in 1860, there was a compromise. The compromise was to have southern states keep slavery. But the Confederacy fired on Fort Sumter. That caused the Civil War. And because of the Civil War, what happened? The North won, and there’s no slavery.

SANDERS: I think it is disgusting and absurd to suggest that anyone inside of this building would support slavery.

DISGUSTING! ABSURD! And then Shuckles hit the fainting couch, appalled at the mere suggestion that the racially transcendent authoritarian regime of Donald J. Trump could possibly be accused of something so grotesque as supporting slavery! In a way, we're glad she didn't answer, because we know Southern Republican women all too well, and we wouldn't have been surprised if she had launched into a soliloquy about how some slave owners looooved their slaves and treated them like family , therefore it wasn't all that bad . (For real, Southern racists say things like that, and we'd bet a dollar somebody back in Arkansas told young Sarah that during her formative years. WAS IT DADDY HUCKABEE?)

But seriously, how was Ryan's question even fair?

It's not like John Kelly said Robert E. Lee was an "honorable man." ( Yes he did. )

And it's not like Donald Trump said some of the Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville were just lovely people. ( Yes he did. )

And it's not like Trump ran a campaign entirely based on inflaming white resentment against black folks and all other minority folks. ( Yes, he did that too! )

And it's not like Trump has a long history of vicious racism, all the way back to the days when he was denying housing to black folks in New York with his equally racist dad. (You get the joke that the parentheticals all say "Yes he did," right?)

And it's not like during the campaign Trump just wasn't sure whether the KKK and David Duke were good dudes or bad dudes. (AT LEAST THEY'RE NOT BAD HOMBRES , AMIRITE, MISTER PRESIDENT? Anyway, yes that happened. )

And it's not like Trump picked the most racist American in the ENTIRE WORLD to be his attorney general, by the name of Jefferson Butterbeans Sessions. (Yes. And oh boy, the racisms he's done in that job!)

Yeah, we can't imagine why April Ryan asked that question.
