Two small corrections: The link to Wikipedia for "Betteridge's law of headlines" is missing the final "s", and in your (very wonderful!) article, you credited Betteridge with "coming up with it" in 2009, but Wikipedia says that he merely referenced it in 2009, and that it's "much older". That said, it's a great law and NYT breaks it daily. Fox does so hourly.
The only upside to having an electorate as intellectually incurious and mentally deficient as the United States has, is that none of those morons are capable of reading that gray piece of garbage rag
"much of the chaos of late has come from the Republican-controlled House constantly threatening to crash the economy or shut down the government, along with the sense that there are no adults over there at all. " this is literally how it goes every time. every time a democrat is president, the house republicans do everything they can to prevent anything from getting accomplished so they can blame it on the president. and somehow republican voters just keep thinking that's really awesome and great. fml
Make no mistake about it. The Screw York Times is all in for the GOP and it's been like that ever since Howell Raines hatred of the Clintons permeated into every nook and cranny of that propaganda rag.
As published in the NYTimes in 1922, already ignoring what fascism is about:
But several reliable, well-informed sources confirmed the idea that Hitler's anti-Semitism was not so genuine or violent as it sounded, and that he was merely using anti-Semitic propaganda as a bait to catch masses of followers and keep them aroused, enthusiastic, and in line for the time when his organization is perfected and sufficiently powerful to be employed effectively for political purposes.
A sophisticated politician credited Hitler with peculiar political cleverness for laying emphasis and over-emphasis on anti-Semitism, saying: "You can't expect the masses to understand or appreciate your finer real aims. You must feed the masses with cruder morsels and ideas like anti-Semitism. It would be politically all wrong to tell them the truth about where you really are leading them."
'Beavers create complex wetland mosaics, creating ponds, canals, mires and braided streams, and coppicing trees like willow as aspen to maintain open grassland habitats within the mosaic. Their wetlands store water in headwaters reducing flooding and ameliorating the impacts of droughts, and trapping pollutants.
This vegetarian animal coppices trees to regenerate fresh young shoots, and grazes grasses and other bankside vegetation. Beavers feel safe in water and create canals and ponds to expand, explore and exploit the riparian corridor.
In headwaters, they build leaky dams to create open water where little exists. As well as providing extensive habitats for wetland species, the dams trickle water into the headwaters providing healthy base-flows and reducing flooding'
They're actually useful and welcome. Trump's as useful and welcome as a dead rat in a tampon factory.
Maybe the NYT could have someone write an op-ed piece encouraging Dear Leader not to avoid his court appearances, but to walk in boldly, and lay out all the evidence he has (he did say he has evidence, didn't he?) that truly shows all the millions of fraudulent votes, the corruption of the "Deep State", and the treasonous actions of Joe Biden. While he's at it, he can introduce his new, cheaper, and much, much better alternative to Obamacare. Yeah, that's the ticket. Go ahead and jump right on that NYT editorial board. You're all a bunch of bright young fellas, maybe even some gals. We'll wait.
The Times is a complete piece of shit that treats their writers like garbage.
And treats their readers like shit. Don't forget that!
Our media are falling to the Dark Side, one by one...
CNN hurt, but actually the Times hurts more.
It’s all been downhill for that paper since Frank Rich left

My very mature and adult take on t-rump's love of dick tators is because his dick is like a tator tot. Am I wrong?

My favorite thing about Biden is his obvious contempt for NYT.
Strange how a newspaper can morph into a fascist rag, just like what happened in Germany to curry favor with Adolph Hitler.
"Morph into"? Maybe you should read the Hitler-slobbering stuff they printed in the 1920's.
Wait - was that sarcasm?

I had not thought of the 1920's. But then we have a history of fascist wannabes in our midst.

Actual quote in court: 'I'm not a windmill person'
Ditch the NYT and read The Guardian's International edition. Really. (Also Pro-Publica for deep dives.)
Check to all three suggestions.
