Scott McClellan: Our New Favorite Person
It's so adorable that journalists continue to pretend like Scott McClellan will answer this question:
QIs the coalition falling apart?
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! Just imagine: "MR. McCLELLAN: What coalition?" Or: "MR. McCLELLAN: Why, funny you should say that, George was just asking me the same question."
Actually, we're starting to love Scott. He's like the best drinking game machine ever! Pick a phrase -- oh, "free and peaceful," say.
MR. McCLELLAN: Actually, the coalition in Iraq is strong, and we appreciate the numerous recent statements from countries participating in the security -- or participating in security for the Iraqi people who have -- they have reaffirmed their resolve to help the Iraqi people realize a free and peaceful future.
QCan you name some of those countries?
MR. McCLELLAN: Yes, from Italy to Japan to Poland and others -- I think Portugal. A number of countries. Remember, there are more than 30 nations who are participating in our efforts in Iraq, and we appreciate the strong statements reaffirming their commitment to helping the Iraqi people realize a free and peaceful future.
If we weren't already drinking, we'd already be drunk! But seriously. . . . Hmm. Yes. The mighty Italian, Japanese, Polish and Portuguese armies. 0 and 4 in their last four wars. Not so much a coalition of the willing as a whole team of people picked last to play kickball.
