Cheer Moms. They never actually LEFT high school or it's drama, mentally. And now we're here.

*Looks for a nice hard wall to bang head against.*

Which is absurd on the face, since A) kids can't sign contracts, and B) we're dealing with teenagers, who have emotional outbursts.

The kid vented online. This whole thing is as stupid as a fish in high heels

Weird how in every other professions shortages of quality staff has to be addressed by things like scholarships, training, increased pay, and better conditions.

Teachers apparently need more standardized testing, less job security, and lower pay.

It is ridiculous how badly teachers are systematically treated.

Thank you.

> "nubile chickie-babes"

I will not offer congratulation as if minimizing and objectifying literally the only athletic opportunity for women in your school at that time is an any way positive or progressive.

How just exhausting it is that boomer dudes still brag about their super cool radical misogyny. Just fucking exhausting.

Objectifying women has never been a 1st Amendment Violation.

Being gross and sexist is not super cool, dudebro.

I made an epic social mistake at midwestern town. I kept cheering for my kid in gymnastics, rather than enjoining them to Perform To Standards.

Someone made a snark on my kiddo and I replied that this was supposed to *fun*. Like, honestly none of them would be in the Olympics.

So that is heresy. I was supposed to pretend these seven year olds were all training to be olympic athletes.

Spoiler: none of the kids in their class became Olympic gymnasts. But those kids were mostly denied the joy of play and performance for its own sake.

That is a nuanced, heartfelt letter that has far more rage than I would expect.

College financial age screws children from dysfunctional families. The fact that you dad has to sign on the form for you to get loans is terrible. There are so many kids of divorce whose dads have tons of cash, but will pay nothing unless they sue, then win the suit.

The system is completely fucked up.

i think the point is more that she was already cut from the cheer team, and she expressed her reaction to that, and ended up in front of the supreme court. It's like holding a parliamentary enquiry cos a teenager tweeted 'eff the queen' or some other disrespectful opinion
