Kinda run that "white paper" thing into the ground, haven't you?

I'll let you know when I've run it into the ground, thank you very much

The thing I find interesting is, despite pretty heavy criticism from these women, I've really never seen a progressive use this as a reason to attack or denigrate these women - let alone assert this criticism of a "de facto leader" should be punished by driving these women from the party and never listening to a thing they say ever again.

Either way, progressive's willingness to support Sanders - despite him being obviously less than perfect on every progressive issue - kind of undermines the "purity pony" narrative a bit, doesn't it?

You use the squad against yourself by attacking them with GOP talking points.

Instead of defending your own side and pointing out how absurdly wrong the GOP is, you side with the GOP to attack them - effectively telling every voter the "GOP is right".

With friends like you throwing grenades inside the tent, the GOP's job is half done.

How are you defining "effective here? What has Porter accomplished that doesn't also apply to the caucus generally?

I'm a *HUGE* Katie Porter stan ... but this is nonsense. Don't use her to flog your divisive bullshit.

Yet, somehow, Democratic-party aligned politicians in Minneapolis objectively won elections running on the exact slogan "Defund The Police" - achieved a majority even. Now they are working on the difficult process of figuring out what that looks like while keeping the community safe as concrete policy.

Go figure.

Let me be as clear as I can: I don't consider the squad to be my own side.

The squad is made up of chaos agents, trolls, and con artists who care more about Twitter likes than policy.

Ayanna Pressley primaried a 10-term incumbent white man in 2018, who was left of left and quite beloved, and won.

And the Boston Police Department is in the middle of a scandal where a white police chief (acting, I believe, and unfortunately appointed by Mahty Walsh before he left for DC) had been accused of domestic violence many years ago. The acting Black mayor just fired him. Pressley reps most of Boston, along with Cambridge and Somerville.

The entire MA federal delegation is Dem.

The chances of a police union having any effect on Rep. Pressley is ZERO.

Argue bargle Bernie bros, etc.

Which is why I said the idea that focus-grouping protest slogans won't suddenly make white people care.

So we should keep using messaging that has proven to be detrimental and self-defeating because nothing really matters.

The 17.1 million "spent" on fundraising is what is going into the bank accounts of the grifters: sending out text messages and emails to an existing list costs almost nothing, in reality, but big fees are paid to the "owners" of those lists, and that is what the purpose is.

Who are the two "honorary" members of the Squad (lower left and lower right) in addition to the four original members?

I don't know who you're arguing against but if your entire movement is predicated on the viral nature or perceived acceptability of a three word slogan you're either going to get pseudo-transgressive slogans like defund the police and boycott divest sanction or anodyne nothingness like stop the hate or stop asian discrimination.

Maybe, just maybe, the movement is bigger than a three word slogan.

Hah, I'm not the one who started this thread all thick with triumphalism about defunding the police. I let it go for a while, but then finally decided enough was enough.

Here is a measure of legislative effectiveness. Lauren Underwood is at 36th place out of 240 Democrats; Porter is at 134. AOC is at 230 out of 240 because she cannot be assed to do her job:

So, where's the GND bill?
